Funny u mentioned Martyrs because I was reading/searching for updates last night and its gonna be distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Seems like it'll be really strong tho I read that both girls are gonna be alive unlike the first one where one dies at the beginning.

There will be a 'Cube' remake (y'all remember the early 2000s film with 5 inmates trying to climb out of the cube and avoid its numerous traps).



It also had sequels: Cube 2: Hypercube & Cube 0.

The remake will be titled 'Cubed' and is coming out in 2016.

Goodnight Mommy was really good. Beautiful cinematography and amazing acting. It was so brutal even though it wasn't very gory... a film that can **** with you psychologically is already doing better than 90% of horrors these days. The only thing I didn't like is you could tell the whole time that the mom was going to die. I mean, I guess it was already kind of obvious from the trailer/basis of the story, but there was never any feeling of hope that it was going to end any differently. The twist was very interesting though and definitely warrants a second viewing.

Why aren't slasher movies the norm in horror anymore? It's either found footage, lame dtv films, remakes or the supernatural.

When are we gonna get great slasher movies like Halloween, Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th again?

Probs because they were done to DEATH in the 80's-90's and there's no room left besides satire/black comedy mixes

You're right, it was kinda obvious. But idk, I first thought the kids are going to die, or at least one of them. I still don't understand, if there was something paranormal going on? Why was the mother going into the woods, etc?

Also I have to add that I sometimes could not take the movie seriously because of that awful German with Austrian accents. It sounds like a parody. But it's definitely interesting to see such a brutal story happen in a familiar atmosphere.

You did understand that Lukas was dead, right? that's why he was always whispering into Elias's ear, wasn't being fed, etc. I don't think there was anything paranormal, when the mother went into the woods that was just a dream that Elias was having.

I watched Goodnight Mommy yesterday. It wasn't as scary as the trailer and it was just a little too long and slow, but it wasn't bad. I liked that it left a few details ambiguous. I wish the mother character had spent more time in the creepy bandage mask, because that was the most effectively creepy thing in the movie. I was disappointed that she was only in it for barely half the movie

I thought the twist was very well done. I actually didn't expect her to die. I thought she would be the evil one and convince them to free her and then chase them through the woods and then lock them up for good or kill them. But otherwise I agree - it was a good movie.
