Well, that's just her personality. It can't change. She isn't the sunny and cheerful type and she doesn't pretend to be. The person that's the most happy go lucky in public is the one who usually is hell on wheels behind closed doors anyway.

Madonna is probably a softie at heart but she just doesn't show it or know how to. She doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve. She comes off as completely hardboiled. I always believed this is why she is a terrible actress. Even her celebration/exploitation/satire (however one may interpret it) of sex always seemed distant.
