There are some good songs (mostly the ones I didn't expect to like: HML, EC, BM), but there is a shortage of songs that are truly captivating, that grab you and make you want to play them over and over again. Her trademark killer hooks that work their way into your head and refuse to leave are mostly missing. She deserves better.

BTW (song) has some longlivety though... It's almost #10 on iTunes again.

Bad kids is an example.. the chorus is horrible compared to the verses.

I was just thinking about this a few minutes ago. I've never seen such resistance towards an album before in my life. There's been a massive cloud of anger ever since she announced the title.

- The chola/orient backlash
- The Express Yourself world war
- The K-Pop plagiarism accusations

- The fast rise and fall of Judas
- The nightmare that was the worldwide reaction towards the album cover

Just Dance was a perfect single choice and if her fans would vote a song like that as the next single, it would do very well.
Lots of artist did something like that already but they always choose another song anyway.
the edge is a perfect single but I have no idea what song can be the next one. I don't see any more great single choices, the songs are great as an album.
but seriously the edge is perfect and I hope it becomes her biggest hit though I doubt it will sell well because of the album sales

Bad Kids and Hair are a bit frustrating cuz I like the pre-chorus for both so much more than the actual choruses (which are kinda lame).
Still, there are plenty of hooks on the album, but I remember when TFM came out someone said "Monster" was totally hookless, which was like facially absurd to me, so maybe it's a personal thing.
I always get to the chorus and face palm.
