Reba really cuts loose with the vocals here, with some impressive vocal drives, and belts soaring into the 5th octave. She even plays with her lower register (even though she drops her larynx to get there). It's also nice to get a 1st person narrative since Country is addicted to the 3rd.

Because of You
Truthfully I paid this a lot of dust, but Kelly's tone is really interesting here; it's a lot darker than normal (My December, ha impact!). I still detest Reba for using her head voice instead of going balls deep in that Eb5 belt, but the production here is great, and both of their deliveries are really touching.

Turn On the Radio
This so euphoric and fun, the chorus is really great! Of course, as a Kelly stan, I love a good kiss-off anthem, and telling your ex he can hear you on the radio is a great way of saying both "**** you" and "I'm doing great without you" in one swoop. The final buildup is nice as well. Overall, a great, driving anthem, that's just the right amount of Country flare that it's platteable. So glad this was a #1 smash!

As everyone the UK knows, geordie stunner Cheryl Tweedy Cole Fernandez Versini releases flawless pop perfection lead singles and is then never able to follow through as she releases a dud second single, an album full of filler and then the era ends and she gets divorced. This does not include her debut, which had 3 good singles.

Therefore, despite listening to and already knowing my new fave's discography, the truth is that her three best songs are three of her most well known hits. It's just the way it is.

3. The most beautiful generic song I've ever listened to, it's Call My Name. Just beating out her most recent lead single because it played at the club on gay night a couple months ago and it was sort of the best 3 minutes of my entire life. Calvin Harris is sometimes good.

2. In second place is a grower, Promise This took a long time to grow on me but it's catchy and actually sort of interesting for a pop single by Cheryl. Shame it's so forgotten.

1. Unsurprisingly she still hasn't topped her debut single Fight For This Love and never will. It's actually one of the best pop songs by a UK female honestly.

1 Ghost What a MASTERPIECE. Served fresh with an iconic LGBT-friendly video, the song is a synthpop masterpiece. I quote this one on tumblr more than all of the other ones So that it makes it my clear #1.

2 Hold Me Down The way my queen squeaks when she sings is so artsy. Serving sensual, seductive vocals with a mix of artful, inspirational lyrics.

3 New Americana This represents the new milennia and generation Z children, like, so well. I love the angst and that Halsey is leading an artistic revolution in sonic form. Not everyone can do that. Her and Melanie really are leading the new generation of young, trendy cool and interesting kids like me.

That chorus is literally ME oh my god. My queen just gets me so well. The edgy "James Dean" reference Poor Taylor did it in a commercialized way, while Halsey's is actually a risk.
