Tate & Liza are psychic twins and Gym Leaders in Mossdeep City. Hoenn's new gimmick was double battles, and how best to show that off than twin gym leaders that take you on 2v2? They aren't really separate characters like the Striation triplets since they never separate and always speak in tandem. I like the concept but not crazy for the execution. The gym was okay, kind of re-using gen 1 mechanics again though. They could be difficult, especially in Emerald, and it was a nice surprise the first time you got that far so they aren't that bad.
