So on first listen, Bon Voyage is ok :-| It's your typical standard Koda fanfare, I'll have to make my way through it a few more times so I can weed out the trash. I already deleted the two ballads in the middle though.

edit - Also, the interlude gives me major Standing On The Sun teas

Loveland is better on first listen! The melodies are so nice. But this album really put something into perspective for me. J-pop can be so basic thematically. This whole Loveland/Shape of Love/LoveAffection....like seriously?? . It is GOOD basic music though

Here's to her next attempt at a physical release being better - I have a feeling that the fact that L and this last one were 3 years apart had an impact at the numbers this pulled, since she released limited singles even digitally in between, and also managed to somehow spawn Party Queen in the interim.

I don't see her pulling a Koi no Tsubomi, I think it's only further downhill from here. But Pray is amazing, IMO her best song since Mirrorcle World. As long as she keeps releasing a great song once in a while, then I'm satisfied.

"Pray" is more in the vein of the classic Ayu I've come to love more, and her sales are strong enough in total for me to not care, so I agree! Not that I dislike "Feel the Love" though.

Lately my top three has shifted drastically from exclusively post-2009 Ayu to older stuff; "Heaven", "Hanabi", and "Vogue" at the moment.

vogue is such a gem in her discography. The other singles from Duty get overshadowed by SEASONS but, personally, I've always felt that vogue and SURREAL were the best from the releases that era.

SURREAL still gives me chills, easily in my top 10 Ayu songs of all time. The atmosphere that song exudes is magnetic.

HEAVEN is one of the songs that got me hooked on her, such an amazing song. Moments is lovely as well, my favorite song off of MY STORY. I loved the Akimitusa Homma arrangement of it on the ayu-mi-x 7 series. M, of course, is a classic.

My top 3 is RAINOW, fairyland, and A Song for xx.

She kills A Song for xx every time she does it live, the passion is always there when she performs it. The performance of it during 15AT~ABL~ was one of the best in years imo.
