Saw it last night and I honestly really enjoyed it. The only issues I had with it was the pacing was a bit off and the cut some interesting scenes way to short. The plot was really barren. So on those points I can see why it was received a certain way.

However ; I thought everything else was perfect. The thing I was excited for and mainly watched the movie was Harley Quinn and Margot delivered on everything. The accent was better then Tara Reid's portrayal of Harley and was honestly the closest thing to Arleen's portrayal of her. Her mannerism's, her interactions with people. It was perfect ,

I liked every other character and thought they all did well. I wish we could have seen more of Diablo and Katana however. The Joker was alright, his obsession with Harley seemed kind of weird considering he was never that loving towards her ever but I can see what they were trying to do.

The Enchantress could have been a great villain IMO, but the limited plot probably screwed her over in this. She literally goes from 0 to 100 in like ten seconds and besides a few lines you're still left wondering "well...why?" towards her. If they built her up a bit more it could have been better.

Will Smith and Viola Davis are my favorite actors so I'll definitely be watching this for them if nothing else.

It was an okay movie, definitely enjoyed the first half more. It could have been better but I liked it for the most part.

just got back from the movie, and it just felt meh. it was visually beautiful at some parts and the casting (look wise) was very spot on, but I just found myself wondering when we'd get to the "real" conflict. the villain they choose had the potential to be interesting, but they failed to flesh out the character enough and the twist just left everyone like "what? why?"

all in all, i'd give it like a 7.5/10 for overall enjoyment, but based on its quality it'd be like 6/10

This is the problem.

They wanted the Suicide Squad to be "bad" but also feel like heroes a la Guardians.

So, obviously a smaller task would've been better to flesh out the characters and give us more VILLAIN moments and probably them fleeing or something. However, it would have been harder to see them as heroes by the end. We ended up with a mesh of both of those conceps which can work but it didn't here because neither side was properly explored.


I feel bad because I like both ideas. I would've loved to see the squad pull their true dark colors and bail on whatever mission they had and GTFO. Make a messs. Whatever. However, I think I also would've liked a more believable switch in which they actually help to do something for the greater good.

In the end, the 3rd act of the movie feels like 2 ideas were fighting for the spotlight. This does so many things right and the actors did EVERYTHING they could with what they had. Margot Robbie was just amazing.

harley/joker stole the show and i'd love to see leto/robbie get their own film starring joker + harley.

a fun eye candy, movie magic movie. don't go expecting a oscar-worthy storyline and you will walk out happy.

I just came from the movie and it was a mess but fun mess.

The first third of the movie was PERFECT, then something happened in the middle that felt SO rushed. One minute we're getting introductions, the next, Enchantress is taking over the world and they're about to stop her? It was a huge and quick jump and I was a bit confused.

Last third of the movie felt so predictable and cliche...but it was still fun!

Also idk why someone said the Joker is barely in the movie. He was literally in EVERY other scene...like the majority of the movie

ehh i doubt will we ever see the original cut or even a director's cut

unlike BvS, this film was cut and edited for tone, not time
