I can't believe some of you thought he would be #1! But the fact that so many of you did speaks to the impact that he had while he posted here.
Mazen is a hard fellow to describe, because it's hard maintaining even a level of objectivity when it comes to him. A lot of people think he hung the moon; others, like me, think the exact opposite.
It's funny to go back and read some posts from when he first started; he was genuinely nice! Snarky, but nice. The snarkiness got him more attention, and he decided to go down that avenue. But the snarkiness overcame him, and he became deeply, deeply, DEEPLY unpleasant. Members - and I must stress the PLURAL - stopped posting because he had taken ATRL over. He was very funny, but there stopped being a line - he couldn't differentiate between snarking on celebrities, and snarking on other members. He went in, and he went in hard.
He was also gender****ed. He had, and still has, serious gender/identity issues. How many years did he have us believeing he was a woman - two, three? I'm still not sure. If he is a man, he might be the most self-loathing homosexual I've ever seen here (and that includes Marquis and Jordan, among others.) Soon his diatribes read as hate speech, and thankfully, he left. (after being banned multiple times.)
Best Moment: RCABabyJane. There is nothing - NOTHING - Mazen could ever do to top it.
I'm not surprised that he's not top ten, but not even top twenty? Hell, you even mentioned that he took ATRL over. He WAS ATRL for a couple of years. Even despite this, I have no qualms with any of the remaining 21 being ahead of him, so I'm content. But I still would have put him higher.
ATRL, for many years, was a chat-based forum. What happened on the forum was one thing, but it was secondary to what happened in the AIM chats later on the night. At the height of chats (ranging from 2001 - 2004), chats would go on for HOURS. We used to not even want to go to the bathroom, for fear that we would miss something. Cool music taste, but also something more important - he gave you all Your Top Ten. He was the first person to have a personal countdown - without him, who knows if ATRL would still be around.
You all might not believe this, but Dani has been here for a very long time. A VERY long time. She first started when she was 14, and ... well there are some things she did then that she might regret now. But she soon evolved, and her evolution has caused a combination of pride, fear, disgust and empathy within me - I feel like her parent! She's become a unmistakeable part of this crazy site, always there to provide shade and stan for things that don't really need to be stanned for. (CHRISANNA.) But that's why we love her, right?
Plus, she and Tierra are kind of like an ATRL version of Thelma and Louise - or, at least, Laverne and Shirley.
Best Moment: When Dani first signed up, we had a subforum called The Sex Lounge. (how PRESCIENT of us.) Dani was that subforum's top dog, endlessly wondering about the penis sizes of any and all male celebrities. She really broke the mold on that one.

I hope Dani continues to post here. She comes and goes with her posting from time-to-time, just wish it was as frequent as it use to be.

Merging indie interests, pop star devotion and rock radio love into one tidy package, Vthingy made his mark on ATRL. He hasn't posted in months, and he's still being clamored for. He kinda snuck up on all of us, posting snarky comments and never failing to slap someone upside the head with common sense. I may not agree with him all the time (see his Best Moment, and his love for RHCP), but he's my ninja for real. 4real 4 real.
