I remember when I first discovered her. I discovered Video Games on YouTube, was hooked, and literally about 5 minutes after I hit the subscribe button, Blue Jeans was uploaded. Video Games only had a couple hundred thousand views at that point.

I loved her, and I thought she would be succesful, but never in my wildest dreams did I see her actually becoming a major force in the industry, or even a hot topic on ATRL.

Exactly! I'm sure she'll have a succesful 2012. She also seems pretty versatile which is good, and I'm not going to lie but the fact that she's as stunning as she is really makes it stan for her that much more.

It's pretty shallow, I know, but she looks AMAZING.

I just like how her music has retro influences, but it's still VERY 2012.

Hopefully soon, even our good sis Ace Reject will recognize the brilliance of the "digital-wall-of-sound" style they're going for.

Also, all I'm asking for for Christmas is for Kanye West to work his magic and get Azealia Banks and Lana Del Rey on the same track.

i agree. I remember posting in this thread back in october and wanting to find out all about her but there was only like 3 or 4 people posting every once in a while. I still bought her EP from itunes though but i never knew if she would actually make an album.

He already acknowledged that Video Games is one of the best songs that was released this year. I don't think he wants to admit that he likes her.

It wasn't until I heard a live version of Born To Die that I started to take notice of Lana. Then I heard "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans" and haven't looked back since.

"Off To The Races" is so good, too! I absolutely love her vocal delivery on the track. I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves!

It's just in time too. Dancepop is wonderful, but no one is taking it a new direction, we really need something new on the female-led pop front. Lana and Azealia both have me REALLY hyped for 2012.
