I don't understand why people are angry at the acts. This is not 2001 anymore. It's just like people saying Disney Channel is **** now. These acts (TV shows) aren't really meant for us but what's 'hot now'.
If you haven't noticed, most of the A-List popstars are either lazy, retired, don't do any promo, not in an era or no longer relevant (in terms of music). And that isn't MTVs fault
It also isn't their fault that many pop girls aren't releasing music. The only one who is, is Taylor, Demi, Nicki and Selena.
Award shows cater towards the new artists and news flash - that isn't always the pop girls.
We've had our great VMA years with Beyoncé, Britney, Kanye, Missy Elliot, Lil Kim, Jennifer Lopez etc now I guess it's the tweens turn (5SOS, Justin)
