I could see her getting another AOTY nomination this time around.

One thing I've noticed is that some critics become more accepting of things they previously rejected after said things become commercially successful. Take a look at Ke$ha; she got some more hits in the US and her Metacritic score jumps up to where Gaga's is. I think we could see similar critical reception for Katy's next album, especially since I highly disagree with TD's negative reception anyway. And it was nominated despite bad reviews.

I agree completely, I predict Katy's third album will be far more well received by critics. They wrote her off for two albums, but she undoubtedly proved that she's a genuine force to be reckoned with throughout the TD era. I hope her Metascore cracks the 70s.

I'm completely out of touch with critics, it seems, because I would have pegged TD as an album that made the 70's. I mean seriously, my personal average for the album is 9.73 out of 10. And it's a 52 on Metacritic. I honestly do not get what was so wrong with it that it wasn't at least 65.

But regardless, her next one will be much higher. Even if it's not as good I think it will be higher, but I'm confident she can match or surpass herself in quality as well as critical reception.

I still believe that Katy is holding out on releasing her first single until it gets closer to the Smurfs 2 release date. That way the song will promote the movie and vice versa. Also when she needs to promote the movie and song, she can do it at the sametime instead of promote her song everywhere now then have to promote the movie a few months after.

A rep for Icona Pop confirms that "I Love It" -- which was released overseas over a year ago -- is still the group's current single in the U.S., but that "Girlfriend" is a single for Europe and other international areas.
