It has more to do with the fact that Carpool Karaoke was a "new thing" to the GP back then, now it's more common and of course people won't be as excited + it's going to die down as a great promo spot as time keeps going by.

Sia's Carpool is super old, and every time a new (hit) Carpool video is uploaded, all the old Carpool videos get a boost as well
