Lady Gaga has been sued by a Russian music network, MUZ-TV, for failure to perform at an awards show concert after being paid $1.5 million. According to legal papers filed in Miami by the company that owns the music network, Gaga totally bailed on them after being delivered the crazy amount of rubles.
While the Russians are certainly not to be trusted, Lady also does not exactly seem like the most honorable performer in show biz (at least if her ripping off the style, music, and career of Madonna is any indication). According to the lawsuit, the company attempted to schedule Gaga's appearance through Miami-based management firm, NWE, which allegedly claimed it could book Her Gaganess for a summer appearance. NWE then culled approximately $300,000 from the $1.5 million as its broker fee and left the Russian version of MTV in the dust.
Perhaps the Ruskies should do a little vetting of the credentials of a Miami-based "management firm" before they pay out another seven-figure sum for an American star's appearance in the future. South Beach is worse than even New York City or Hollywood when it comes to money-hungry wannabes.
Neither NWE nor Gaga have commented concerning the suit. MUZ-TV claims it has repeatedly asked for its money back to no avail. At least they didn't get passed off some crazy South Beach drag queen to do the appearance. You think they could have told the difference?
