So I ate lunch at Arbys today and ordered a swiss bacon chicken sandwich. They gave me a regular chicken sandwich with tomato and lettuce on it I was SO hungry (I hadn't eaten anything all day) and there was a long line so I decided to just eat it and not go back and ask for a change because I didn't want to wait any longer for food

I had a similar problem, but all starts with saying "Hi! How r u?" and then asking some random things about things in common (school, job, etc.) like "How did u do on yesterday's exam" or "That class was boring as hell" or stuff like that.

That's what I always do to start conversation, and try to talk about popular topics among the group of people whom I'm talking to
