Umich disagrees and what makes you think that? That would be the dumbest rule ever

i think it's almost like impossible for WWWY to be a huge smash, def not like Hello, but it will keep chugging, getting even more ppl (if that's even possible) to get into her and 25 and it's a grammy favourite obviously, and a critics darling.
if it goes top 5 and stays in the top 10 for long, it's obviously huge.
and i like that her personal favourites are the singles.
(hope WUTB is one of her faves too )

It's not me who makes rules. This has been something commonly said on the itunes thread in the past. They say they only use 2 versions. for example The Weeknd's two remixes of The Hills (eminem and Nicki minaj). Billboard only used Eminem's remix and the original track sales for that week. They counted the Nicki remix separately and did not fuse those sales with the original and the eminem remix.

BB doesn't just use 2 versions. That's illogical. But the remix can't be too far away from the original recording either for it to count. I think it can only be 25% different and 75% original if I remember correctly from the LFN days.

All versions of a song count for sales.
Quote:
"So many songs are offered in multiple versions: edited, explicit, album, etc. We take great care in making sure that the songs we merge are similar musically and/or lyrically.
"The Hot 100 should measure a song's full impact based on all its iterations."
Billboard, does however, compile a chart that breaks out individual track sales: Hot Digital Tracks, which is viewable to subscribers at billboard.biz.
Whereas Hot Digital Songs ranks titles by all versions combined, Hot Digital Tracks rank each song's separate versions, making often for multiple listings of the same composition on the survey simultaneously.
Thus, when it comes to edits and remixes, Digital Tracks affords us a clear picture of which versions of the same song are the most popular.
On this week's Digital Tracks, the version of "E.T." featuring West ranks at No. 1 (with sales of 247,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan), while the Perry-only version places at No. 21 (62,000). The West edit accounts for 77% of the song's overall sales (with other versions - "Benny Benassi Radio Edit," "Noisia Remix," "Dave Aude Remix" - also registering totals).
Additionally, Green's PG-rated edit "Forget You" is at No. 18 (67,000), with the original "F**k You!" at No. 42 (41,000). The rankings echo consumers' tastes throughout the song's history: release-to-date, the song's clean edit has outsold the original explicit version, 2.4 million to 1.5 million.
The next prominent example of how a remix performs against an original album version will take center stage on next week's charts, when we'll see the impact of the Spears-assisted "Rih-mix" of Rihanna's "S&M" following the new version's first full week of retail availability.

nearly doubling to 189,000 downloads sold (up 93 percent) in the week ending Oct. 15, according to Nielsen Music (good for top Digital Gainer honors). Driving its spike: two newly-released remixes, one featuring Minaj, who joined The Weeknd for his performance of the song on NBC's Saturday Night Live, and the other featuring Eminem. (All versions of the song count for its singular Hot 100 rank.) Of the sales for "The Hills" during the tracking week, 51 percent are The Weeknd's original version, 35 percent Eminem's and 14 percent Minaj's.

Guess you are thinking about who gets credited for the song? That can only be 1 remix. If it is bigger than the original version, but they always count every version.

Really doubt that the streaming gap will get smaller... I have it going from 3.4 million to 4.4 million. It may not get that big, but I don't see how it gets smaller seeing the first 3 days of this week on Spotify.

Exactly, "Hello" is decreasing faster on both Spotify AND YouTube, if anything, the gap is gonna be bigger than this week

I don't do my Streaming predictions based on Spotify trends or gaps.
This week Hello was down 6% on Streaming, Sorry was down 5%. The week before Hello was down 2%, Sorry was up 3%. Their percentage changes are similar each week.
I just subtracted 7.5% from their Streaming this week, and rounded.
Sorry: 23.2 million - 7.5% = 21.46M rounded to 21.5M.
Hello: 19.8 million - 7.5% = 18.315M rounded to 18.5M.
We don't have a full week of Spotify numbers, nor do we have YouTube US views yet so I don't even see a point in using numbers we have to estimate over percentage trends. I guess when we have Spotify Weekly Chart + YT US Views then I'd change my estimates on their Streaming.
