No, because they didn't make a last-minute switch from DH to UC when it was clear that DH was ready to be a hit after residing in the top 20 on iTunes over a month.
So I don't get where the "shade" is coming from on our ends.
Don't act like "Unconditionally" didn't sound like a hit at all. I (personally) like it and people around me too. It just happened to not click with the majority, but that's not a tragedy. It's also not experimental at all, it's a typical HAC flavoured pop tune, and we know she smashed with similar songs before. "Dark Horse" is already doing well, so... And I'm happy with it.

Katy chose Unconditionally because it was her favorite. It wasn't like the song damaged the era or anything. If they really cared about the charts, they probably would have switched to DH due to its overwhelming response.
I think Unconditionally is horrible. But I applaud Katy for going with her gut, promoting it and waiting for it to die on radio before puttin out the quick and easy obvious hit. The other girls should take note of ha dedication.
