Ellie didn't "sell out" because she is doing pop music since her debut. Just because she released more mainstream songs on the last few years doesn't mean that her music doesn't have quality anymore. She has a lot of WW hits, her albums are very good and she is great.

Her album will slay like Lights and Halcyon.

Idk why everyone is complaining about line-up when VMAs in general have been horrible for years now, it's not like it matters who's on that stage or not. Like the last time something interesting happened was the Miley thing and even that seems redundant and boring now (and before that I can only recall 2009 and Taylor/Kanye thing).

I'm pretty sure no matter how good or bad Ellie's next album is she'll still be dogged with "sellout" accusations.

I like Ellie a lot, but it's not like she was all that far from the mainstream to begin with or like the direction(s) she took on her second album was all that preferable to full-on mainstream pop. Her voice is distinctive enough to make her stand out no matter how commercial she gets.

Though if she releases more turds like "Burn" I will fume too.
