Perhaps I'm just biased since I'm from AZ

The only Republican I've ever liked was Mike Bloomberg, and we all know how much of one he really is (was).

And I do find it ridiculous that all of them would rather stay home than vote because not voting for Hillary sure as hell isn't going to make anything Bernie promises, happen. At least Bernie has raised his profile and can continue the discussion, even if he loses the nomination.
But I support Bernie because I agree with his policies, he comes off as more genuine to me, and seems like he's ready to fight for his policies and get people behind him. There's no doubt it my mind that if Hillary gets elected she'll keep moving this country forward, but she just doesn't have the excitement that Bernie has.
Either way, we can't afford a republican taking office. And as much as I hate Trump, I don't believe for a second he actually supports 90% of the crap he says but he has a base to appeal to and he's going to have to make some of it happen or else he'll lose his support. So even the people who think Trump is a liberal (he actually is), he's still going to have to come through on his promises.
|
True. I can't have a republican winning this. But apparently Trump is a closeted liberal, and Rubio is just closeted. So maybe Dems are taking over behind the scenes.
Honestly, I am 90% sure that Bernie will join Hillary if he loses the nomination. It's literally the best thing that could happen. Especially if they can get Elizabeth Warren to endorse the two of them. Now, Hillary may have the stigma of a socialist as her VP, however, but she can pull it off if Millennials are really serious about voting this time around. It's like, the perfect compromise if she wins the nomination because it will not make Millennials stay at home rather than voting. I hope this is the outcome.

The Republicans can join in by getting over their fear of social liberalism and ejecting the Tea Partiers, or they can continue their slow and sad decline.
I don't have anything against him personally but really, if it had to be a "progressive" champion that was doing all of this, I'd want it to be Warren, because she'd do it better and more realistically in my opinion.
We'd be better off with more than two significant parties anyway.

I have a feeling Warren is going to endorse Sanders soon (she defended him today and is more aligned with his ideas) and could get the VP spot.
I know people say she can get more done in her current role, but a VP spot gives her something far more important, a spotlight.

I actually like John Kasich and he's not been a terrible governor. But he's practically a liberal for republican standards.

Honestly, no trolling, immigration should be the only issue that matters in this election. As someone who resides in California, sometimes I can't even tell that I live in the United States. Like, half the signs in public places nowadays are in Spanish here.

I don't think it'll look good for Bernie to align himself with Hillary now after he's repeatedly criticized her for being too corporate, esp. when that's the OPPOSITE of his message. He won't be asked to be VP and also wouldn't accept even if he was.

I think if Bernie loses, shouldn't he stay in the senate for the same reasons people say Warren should stay in the senate? Especially with his new-found fame.

You should vote in your local elections, I think they would be able to change the signs in the public places near you

Can't be anymore different thank Obama appointing Hillary as his Secretary of State after hounding her about the vote to support the Iraq War. After that vote, he trusted her judgement in foreign affairs to be his SoS. For the betterment of the party, compromise has to be reached.

I just hate that she didn't run. Obvi I'd prefer her endorsing Hillary but I'd prefer her running instead of Sanders to endorsing him.
I guess I'm just not as liberal as I used to be (at the ripe old age of 19, what a mess).

And as such those standards are incredibly depressing. I could never get behind him after really thinking about it.

Now don't get me wrong, out of the options in GOP, John Kasich is my preference, if the Dems had to lose the general election. BUT, to say that he is practically a liberal is false. His stance with pro-life, anti unions, pro guns, anti gay marriage, and so on. He's far from being a liberal. He's somewhere between moderate and conservative in my mind.

Good point. But I think this is different on a moral level. Obama's entire campaign wasn't based on the harm of the Iraq War. Bernie's entire revolution theme is based on corruption in politics and the rigged economy, which is directly related to Hillary's donations. I think it would be a bigger betrayal to his followers for him to join forces with Hillary than it was for Obama to appoint her as SoS.

The Democrats are starting to be being pulled too far to the idealist left for me, the entire Republican field in and out of Washington is toxic and ignorant anymore, independents are flocking to the extremes on both ends (most liberal Dem in the Senate, Sanders, and Trump/Cruz on the other end), there's not a single viable third party anywhere in sight, and by the way everyone I think John Maynard Keynes was really cool and interesting
