Spin: You're releasing a brand new album. It's an entire 360 from your previous sound. What made you want to switch genres? Eric: I've always done pure pop music. The dance thing and all but it was until the last two albums that I really tried to experiment with sounds. But with this one I wanted to just go in an entirely different direction. I experimented by doing tracks with various producers of all types of genres. I think I really hit home after I worked in the studio with Caroline and Frauntleroy, who produced some amazing tracks on the album. Spin: Do you feel your new direction will isolate your previous fanbase? Eric: I don't think so actually. They're very loyal but I needed a new direction since I'm taking on the world with this album. Spin: We're looking at the tracklist right now, we can't show the fans but how hard was it coming up with the tracklist? Eric: Fairly simple actually. The songs that didn't make the cut were really good but compared to the bunch that made it, they were underwhelming. Spin: R&B records have been made before. What makes this album different than any other R&B record out there? Eric: The diversity and sound of it. It's not pure R&B. It has some electro influences in there via Solange and Dev Hynes. But it has a bit of a soulful vibe to it as well. Spin: What can we expect from the next single? Eric: Something a bit more uptempo and fresh. It'll be totally different than the first single.
That is the cover tho She's an alternative artist, so I'm going artsy and fancy with the meanings and stuff, so her covers this era will be without any kind of text, effects or something. Just a photo.

The unexpected Glee's cover of Lena's latest single In The Light just hit the internet, and was leaked by various pirating websites. Cover's instrumental was a way weaker than the real one and is way more pop influenced, while the real instrumental stays alternative and folkish. The main parts were sung by Naya Rivera's and Lea Michele's characters. According to Ryan Lewis, the leak was totally unexpected and that the Columbia Records are shocked, because they have no idea how it leaked, but confirmed, that it's real and it's official, not fake or something, and that the cover will be used in some of upcoming episodes.
I know right
ii can;t wait to end Tay's era right now i really wanna start promoting Charli XCX :Jonny:
