I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.
And if you really wanna take it there, janet. really isn't THAT much better than AFY. A case can, and will, be made (depending on how pressed I get).

This is nearly accurate. But you won't do my auntie Damita Jo like that. She's far better than Consequence.

Not quite. DJ just flows nicely, and is mellow straight through. Discipline punches for about 6 tracks FB - CBG and the highs are better. It's closer to being a classic Janet album than DJ in terms of structure and content.

DJ has high highs (All Nite, Island Heaven, SloLove) with nothing that's just awful.
Discipline produced Janet's three worst ballads (CBG - GX) and her worst sex track with the title track. That alone puts ita notch or two below Damita Jean.

I've been listening to Janet Jackson's discography in my car for almost a month and it's crazy how talent she is!

But not as high as FB, Luv, and RWU. And Discipline > Warmth & Moist.
And lest we not forget DJ contains "Truly" and "Just A Little White".

Damita Jo is her best 00s album imo.
Slolove, R&B Junkie, Sexhibition, My Baby, Island Life, & I Want You are amazing.

Control is in no way surpassing janet.. Not one single song on the former is as strong as "That's the Way Love Goes", "If", or "Anytime, Anyplace". The former is no more or less cohesive than the latter, not nearly as mature or well-written as the latter, and not nearly as well-produced. Even 1993net's generic crap is better than 1986net's. "Funky Big Band" > "You Can Be Mine".
On the subject of RN1814 being dated: I was at my friend's house on Thanksgiving. Me, my brother, my friend, his friend, his sister, and her boyfriend were all in my friend's room playing video games when I decided to play a little bit of "Alright", "Miss You Much", and "Escapade". My friend's sister's boyfriend thought it was "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. RN1814 is not sonically brilliant; it was a long time ago. The album WREAKS of 1989/90 and there's no denying that. Nothing on TVR, save "Tonight's the Night", "Anything", and "I Get Lonely" SCREAMS late 1990s.
P.S. "Tonight's the Night" is easily my favorite song.

How is this a bad thing? New jack swing>. I guess TVR is more "timeless" or whatever, but RN1814's late 80s/early 90s sound slays no matter what decade it is.
But even then, the RN1814 era is more timeless and remembered than anything having to do with TVR. There's a reason RN was performed at the Super Bowl, and why Janet's 2001 ICON tribute didn't include any songs from TVR.
I agree that janet. > Control tho.

Damita Jo > Discipline. Everything up to I Want You on DJ is pure fire and slays anything on Discipline. Strawberry Bounce, All Nite, R&B Junkie. The only bad thing is that after I Want You DJ turns into a generic mess, bringing down the album as a whole.

Who's gonna give credit to that?
Discipline is barely ahead of Dream Street.
Here comes the list
TVR > janet. > Control > AFY > The Overrated Album > DJ > 20 Y.O. > JJ > ****cipline > DS

Yes, and a single one: it has a memorable video.
The world's usage of Together Again >>>> The localness of anything RN related.
But I must give you that one of the few Janet songs that still slay in Brazil is Come Back To Me. (What a crappy taste)

The only low points are "You Can Be Iconic", but it picks up with two great tracks - WITOY and TPP, then takes a slight dip with "He Doesn't Know I'm A Goddess", then finishes out with "Let's Perch Awhile", and "Funny How Time Flies (When You're On Mount Olympus)". Janet punches TTWLG - If, picks up with Throb then fizzles New Agenda - Because Of Love. Again and WAYN save the latter half of the album, then "The Song Nobody Knows", and ATAP is left to save the album because nobody knows about "Whoops Now" being there.
janet. is just eclectic sonically and lyrically, but overall Control punches start to finish with only two minor gaps of greatness. And you might need to seek psychiatric evaluation if you think TTWLG is seeing FHTF, Nasty, or TPP on any day of the week.

"Closer to classic Janet" in structure doesn't mean it's the better album though. DJ is the /album/ I can listen to all the way through... Discipline isn't even on my iPod

My ranking:
The Velvet Rope > RN1814 > Janet. > Control > Damita Jo > All for You > 20 YO > Discipline
I sometimes switch TVR and RN1814's places and DJ and All for You's places.

Discipline sucks. Warmth isn't much better but Moist is Janet's best sex song post TVR.
Truly and JALW aren't awful.
Discipline only hits with Feedback and Curtains.

Mmm I prefer When We Oooo but from the explicit ones, Moist sure ***** over AFY's, specially WYM. Ew.
And I love JALW! It is so underrated. 20 Y.O. though is THE_UNDERRATED album.
