I don;t see the problem with a song selling because of hype it receives over the internet, in future its likely to become the most important medium for success. Single sales are almost entirely digital now.

It's not a problem, its just that people mostly tie iTunes success with solely Radio play, while internet hype is actually a huge factor in the success equation. But internet hype dies down fast because of the fast digital movement, and if the sing doesn't have high radio play to back it up it won't last in iTunes.

What I'm trying to say that if Willow doesn't get mainstream support soon she won't last in the Top 10 for very long.

WRWWR is going to continue to sell for a long time, radio is eating it up and people love it. WMH is different, it rose rapidly on iTunes because they suppressed sales for quite some time and allowed hype to build. It's going to start decreasing soon unless its updates pick up, they haven't been great on pop thus far. That's worrying.

Yes, The X Factor is one of the main reasons that sales are at their strongest at this time of year. Having said that, Only Girl is going to open with the best sales for a #2 single this year and she hasn't performed on the X Factor yet.
