I'm expecting her new album to basically be on the same level as all her indie movies over the past few years. Pretty lowkey on the mainstream level, but well embraced by her loyal fans.
It's not that I don't want more for her, because I do. I know that she is capable of having a career on the same magnitude as before, but it's not guaranteed. "Comebacks" don't always work and it's not for a lack of talent, it's just about marketing and promotion. I have a strong feeling Hilary might distribute her new music independently after the mess with HR. Or she might choose a label but she'll be picky about the contract so she doesn't get effed over again. But then it's up to the label to do things right. It could go either way but I just want to keep my expectations low.
But really, I'm mostly excited to hear new stuff from her, whether it's mainstream or not. I just miss her music <3
There's so much power in her name, Slant is going to write a review and basically just give it some hate.
