The only thing making it dated is Janet Jackson's name. If Robin Thicke or Bruno Mars was singing this song people would say throw back but because it's Janet, the song is dated.

I'm pretty sure it's 10/2 everywhere, which sucks because she misses the Grammy deadline by 2 ****ing days. I was hoping she'd release it digitally on the 30th but there we go.

Not y'all saying this sounds dated when, no shade to the king, half of Michael's songs have the exact same sound (i.e. Bad, Dangerous, and Invincible) let alone Justin's Mirrors sounding like it was produced back in 2006 with FutureSex. If anything, it sounds like some of you have said, a throwback: specifically to the 80's track White Horse (which Justin remixed into his SexyBack remix surprisingly with Missy).

I'm sure the Naughty Boy remix will fare well as well, but I have had BURNITUP on repeat this whole weekend. Even the minimal production has grown on me.

I love the idea of what some of you said about Janet giving us her staple sounds before each track. I am obsessed with Janet's "rain section" of her albums (always the sexiest in my opinion, and yes I stan for Warmth/Moist). I still feel like I heard somewhere that she's releasing digitally on the 28th, but regardless, we're almost there! I am too hyped!

BURNITUP! is great, I don't think it's nessacarily dated. Not in the way most of 20.Y.O and Discipline are anyway. And Missy wasn't there to deliver lyrics straight from the mouth of Tupac was she? She was there, as others have said, as hypeman. That is what Missy is and has been most of her career, particularly in her features.

And I personally have always loved No Sleeep. Released songs are 3/3 love for me.

Hmm. I'd actually say No Sleeep > Unbreakable > BURNITUP!. I adore Unbreakable. From the intro, to the amazing lyrics (that actually talk about her, like a mature Damita Jo, another favourite of mine), to the outro that makes me so happy everytime I hear it.

I think every released song so far is absolutely perfect and classic Janet.

She whispers it at the end of No Sleeep on the album version from the pre-order. So 1-9=side 1 and 10-17=side 2.
