John Carter just didn't interest me enough to see it..........I hope Disney sees their mistake...pumping so much money into a film without box office guaranteed actors.

That's good number considering the fact that it's not a famous source(at least not now anymore),the marketing was pretty much dropped after the tracking numbers came in,not any household name and much more.

It will be interesting to see how big the drop will be - I think it will be rather big.

Even if it does 250 million ww that's awful when you consider the amount of promo.

JC will be a minimal loss for Disney at most. When all is said and done, it'll have $400,000,000 worldwide. Not enough to make the money back, but a minimal loss for Disney (plus all the merchandising, etc will help them nearly break even).

What amazes me is Project X's weekend to weekend drop

I expected 60+, but less than 50 means this has decent word of mouth.

I wonder how it's legs will be. In my opinion JC doesn't really seem like a crowd pleaser. At least it's not 'the biggest flop' like people thought it was going to be. They should really limit their budgets when it comes to these projects, even Prince of Persia cost 200 mil.

Exactly. I'm trying to figure out how a movie that cost $1M to produce and grossed $7M considering it's a horror film is considered a flop? That's pretty good actually. It will make more then the original that's for sure. Success!

It opened in 55 overseas terretories this weekend. If it really falls steeply from now on I don't think it will make 400 million. But we'll see. Predicting this is pretty hard.

I honestly didn't expect the Lorax to do this well, and considering there isn't really a family friendly movie coming out till the end of the month, it will probably still get strong numbers over the next 2 weeks.

Doubtful. George seems very set on the schedule. I enjoyed seeing Phantom Menace again, despite being the weakest of the six.

I don't know why I thought it was going to **** so hard at tha box office. Silent House wad so cheap I can't even. But I'm so ready for Hunger Games. Like tha promo for it around tha theaters are crazy,they have countdowns and **** leading to tha date

Hunger Games will probably open with Alice In Wonderland opening week type numbers. The hype is HUMUNGOUS.

I don't even know who is in John Carter, or what it's about, or that it came out this week. Is it a good movie? I hope Disney is able to get another blockbuster thriller like Pirates eventually (since that is what they're trying to do).

Now really, the movie is really good, but you can't escape from the idea of it being a mix of Start Wars, Gladiator and Avatar.
The begging is bad, so bad, like horrible. I don't like watching trailers whenever an interesting movie comes out to not get any ideas, or hype myself up; so when I saw the Spy Kids' ginger boy in the first scene I was like this is ****.
Blabla, it's good. The end is amazing
