Ultimately it's her and her team's decision if she should become an urban ONLY artist and not have much success or if she should appeal to mainstream radio and get that ONE hit at least
I love her, urban or pop, but I want her to be successful. And I know OVERDOSE is a bop for everyone.
Having an R&B Fanbase >>>>>>>>>> Having a pop 'fan'base.
Pop is fickle. They'll buy your itunes single and not the album, and sorry but Overdose sounded dated and doesnt fit in with anything else she released.

No one said she should be only pop. If you read my sentence correctly you would have realized that I meant she should do both and have both fanbases.
Ch... yall give overdose too much. Kinda don't want it on the album now.
I never saw the "hype" for Overdose, but judging from the reaction of the snippet, it's probably her best chance at a hit single out of all the material we've heard. Not including it on OWA would discourage "potential" sales. She should have something for everyone, which she claims she does. It'll make the album.
+ I don't get your point. I said 'YouTube disagrees' because all the people that listened to it there LOVE it.
Really? why don't you say that the video doesn't even have 200k in views. Stop acting like a 1:30 clip is smashing any charts outside your imagination. Have a seat at a pew, and accept the word.

I mean, if someone decides they're not gonna buy the album just because ONE song isn't on there, they probably weren't gonna buy the album in the first place.
That's not the case with Overdose. It has hundreds of stans. I'm sure it'll be included
Fantasy Ride had many dance-infused pop songs that weren't singles, even BI did, too (Heavy Rotation)

I agree, I like Overdose(from what I've heard so far) but it is very much dated... But if handled correctly it could be hugh... As far as fan base is concerned most of us R&B fans don't buy singles nor albums but a lot of listeners will pay to go to her shows.... Its best that she appeals to both audience... Maybe she can Mirror what Usher does
I am in no shape or form saying that Overdose is the best track on the album, but in my opinion I feel like it's the single that's gonna break that basic typical mold she currently has and push her to new heights.
I rather her be a singles artist, because it ain't like her album is going to sell....... I rather her have a Kesha esque sort of discography and success at this point because she's not even seeing much success in her own lane.
Either way, I'm loving Body Party because it finally grew on me. I love Sorry (my favorite song off the album so far). But she needs something POP to push her to where she needs to be because being an urban artist can only get you so far, especially if you're a female artist.

This is somewhat true, but it would be wrong for her team to leave out "Overdose" and just leave fans with that snippet. The least she could do is release it as a bonus track. That's IF they choose not to include it on the album.
Overdose will be on the album and everyone will deal. The song has gotten way too much attention for her and/or team to even think about not putting it on OWA. You might not like but you can't say it's not single material and pop perfection.
Wait, why is this discussion happening in this thread though? Keep it in OWA's thread.
