They don't connect making the statement vapid. Since, it doesn't help to continue a convo.

But I don't care, even if that is the right definition it still doesn't make sense in this context. When somebody draws a comparison like I did, it isn't meant to "further the conversation" or even be relevant to the earlier discussion. It is, in other words, a simile. You can't tell me it wasn't a correct simile.
Your example is totally different from what I had said.
