Katy and her team are not that dumb to release a new single with no announcement or hype whatsoever at all especially now that she has a growing and stable following from both of her fans and the GP. Not to mention, everyone is waiting on what she's going to serve with her next album given the massive impact that the TD era did so performing a "surprise" single at the BBMAs just seems so dumb and not so usual of her and her Capitol family.

What Rachel must be talking about is another private concert party that Katy always does?

On the whole "unite" thing... it's being read into way too much. Reminds me of another awards show where some of the CDT crew were there for others and just meet up... aka... unite. I know the CDT sometimes just assumes Katy will be there as well, but have been wrong before.

I hope Katy will be there tho--to accept the WOTY thing, tee hehehehe! =D So maybe Rachael knows Katy will be there... but there isn't a new single for Katy. IF she did anything performance wise, it wouldn't be her own.

Remember when some of us went like little fried beans over thinking Katy would perform with Taylor or something at a previous awards show... just over something a crew member said. Sometimes we assume way too fast and no longer can see any other possibility. lol

Why would we want her to debut a song at the BBMA? It's not like It's a big show like the VMAs or AMAs. Let alone the Grammys. Plus, releasing on a Sunday night/midnight isn't that smart. The song would probably debut early just from radio play.

It seems that we will be lucky to get the song in June. I'm just hoping she doesn't release around the same time as Gaga. I don't want them to be competiting the entire era.

This is just a guess on my part (and because I'm dying for big news) but I think it could be a huge possibility that she may debut her new single at the VMAs this year The show is August 25th and marks almost the exact date Teenage Dream was released 3 years prior. Plus releasing a single at that point could coincide with a September/October album release. And MTV loves to have something huge planned. With Rihanna on tour and Gaga still recovering, I don't see anyone else right now having that big of an impact on the show

I know that this is kind of random/not important but I was listening to KIIS-FM (LAs most listened to station) and Katy's brother David was giving an interview. He was talking mostly about his new single which they played and talked a little bit about Katy. He was just saying how she has been working hard lately on her music as well.
