I don't think they nominate mainstream pop acts for the dance categories anymore.
I think they do, but they changed the rule so that the DJ has to be the lead or something like that. And since Calvin is the lead and Rihanna is a feature I expected it. I am glad my fave WON in that category before they changed the rules.

My exact feelings when the Hive was trying to discredit Morning Phase's AOTY win by bringing up its sales. It's like they forget pop isn't the only music genre in the world.
