I think I've repressed most of my childhood memories, but I have a distinct memory of the melody of that song/Mariah's part. Which surprised me a lot when I re-discovered the song two years ago, because I believed she wasn't a presence in my life until later years. It turns out I was blessed a long time ago

!!!!!!
Exactly the same for me. I'm certain that was one of the first Mariah songs I heard and it reminds me of when I was a kid.
I think I read that the line about someone selling her out was about Tommy but ... 'I miss you little sis and little brother' - who is she addressing and what happened?

"Dandelion" is her sister Alison (a flower whom she once loved starting to change and scatter in the wind - in the world of drugs and prostitution) and her desire for them to reconcile although she doubts this will happen. She dedicates a chorus to each of them, the first being to her sister, the second being to Tommy's children and the final to Tommy himself.
the song is very profound.
I HATE THIS SONG!!! For messing up my trinity of Trashbow I had finally chosen the immaculate hymns of Bliss, Heartbreaker and After Tonight as my favorites, but King Petalsus is just on some cocaine sh!t
NEW Rainbow trinity:
Petals - Rainbow (Interlude) - Vulnerability (Interlude)
Lambily I see you are all slowly being sucked into Wristband because the drought has made you squeeze out every ounce of enjoyment out of all her other albums you're looking for some enjoyment out of even her worst one. Don't fall for the trap! Stay strong!

Charmbracelet isn't that bad though. It has a very consistent, and may I say, stylish sound to it. It's like Emancipation's dud twin sister.
