They probably do that because they are FORCED to do so by movie studios. Just keep on walking, or politely decline. It's really not that big of a deal.
Alliance (who released Dredd in Canada) MADE us survey everyone after the advance screening was done, to gather feedback. We aren't given a choice, we don't do it they stop giving that location their movies.
