So many good things happened this week.

I haven't checked out ATRL earlier and the first thing I saw was a post of boxscores in UKMix. I was very nervous scrolling down the page and then I smiled because the grosses are insanely high and the attendance are all perfect. I'm so proud of her.

I think downstrech to her career, she will be pulling a Madonna tour wherein she'll perform in 80 stadiums and will gross $300-$400M overall. Trust.

I also love 4. The ballads on it are probably Bey's best. But Rated R is the better album sonically and message-wise. Both albums took long to be crafted but Beyonce did not turn her sound 360 degrees whereas Rihanna did. Beyonce did old school Rnb (which she has already done) and the album took many themes from 21 (Adele's album). 4 was risky but the era itself wasn't. I mean she did not risk anything by putting out all the poppiest single from the album. Rihanna on the other hand turn the world around with the Rated R era. I have never seen a pop star released a dark ballad as her first single. All the sounds were different and it represents an angry and depress attitude. It's more cohesive than 4.

Even if Rude Boy sounds out of place. It blends well with Photographs in the tracklist.

For me, Rated R is her most emotionally-driven album and no album can do what Rated R did to me during my dark days. It helped me bent out my emotions over hardships and depression I had before. So for me, Rated R is better than 4.

If you would ask me, I don't want an RR 2.0 again. We had Unapologetic and that should be it.

4 is better than RR and there is no shame in giving credit where it is due.

RR is one of Rihanna's most raw, honest offerings to date and of the time it was released as well.

Not sure. For me, at the top of my head, "better artistic album" would go to Rated R. However, 4 has gotten way more listens out of me. And albeit the two behaving consistently thematically, 4 has the wider range sonically. I suppose RR provides that purebred collection of that dark cinematic tone that stays consistent regardless of the track's genre or tempo, while 4's theme is just as consistent, but is arranged as more of an umbrella for what the record provide's in each track.

I think we all just have different tastes. Let's agree to disagree. RR is a btter album than 4 (for me). No one of Rihanna's peers has topped it. It will be so hard to top.

It's not like we don't give credit to 4. We said it was Bey's best but it has nothing on Rated R.

Was just in the HDD Artpop prediction thread and let me just say: I hope the navy NEVER becomes so statistically obsessed. Because its embarrassing when fans and an artist put themselves on an "untouchable" pedestal and think their superior to everyone. . . To only have that success dimenish in their face.

It was more planned and it had promo bigger than TTT&UA combined. If UA was more planned and with more promo it would've easily outsold LOUD.

I love how both albums had that dark horse track that strayed from the collective theme and ended up being the pusher for the album. Rated R had Rude Boy and 4 had RTW. But it makes me wonder if every consistently composed album purposely needs that one black sheep track to get itself out there
