The characters and the acting are amazing. Honestly if the movie was just them coming together and causing chaos this movie would of been a good 9/10 but the plot was kind of a mess and the enchantess made no sense and was not a good villain
I loved the characters so much and the acting is so great that's why it hurts me even more

Just came back from watching it.
It wasn't awful but I expected more. As said before, the plot was bad, the villain was lame, and the editing bugged me.
I liked the characters (especially Harley and Deadshot) and it was really fun at times. 6/10

Not sure if you all have seen this but this is "allegedly" all the scenes they cut and changed from the movie after test screenings and the reshoots.
And if you can't read it here's the text
Text
Quote:
"In early cuts, the movie's opening detailed June Moon's posession by Enchantress in real tome. Reshoots reshuffled the scene to be later in the movie in flashback form in favour of a new opening centered on Deadshot."
"Deadshot in the prison cell, watching the rain fall and thinking about his daughter."
"El Diablo observing the flame of a lit match, before putting it out due to his vow to no longer use his powers."
"El Diablo being escorted to a training center by being placed in a tube that fills with water to quel his flames, and then unceremoniously dropped onto the ground."
"Early interviews showed Captain Boomerang's racism and sexism, but the movie is light on examples of such behaviour, which have apparently been deleted. Most of them were reportedly directed at Katana, to whom Boomerang is attracted to."
"Early reports indicated more backstory for Killer Croc, revealing that he entire life as a social outcast due to his physical appearancr and has convinced himself that he is beautiful in his own way. Croc crossed paths with Batman while working as muscle-for-hire for numerous Gotham's crime bosses, while secretly planning to take over one day. There were also scenes displaying his affinity for making sculptures out of discarded materials. Aside from jokes about Croc viewing himself as 'beautiful,' one of these were retained in the final cut."
"Also deleted was a scene where he becomes sick at the helicopter escort to Midway City, throws up half-digested pieces of goat, and then eats them again, disgusting the nearby Navy Seals."
"Early cuts reportedly included a passing reference to Slipknot being serial rapist, likely to further paint him as unsympathetic to the audience ahead of his own death."
"More scenes of Rick Flag and June Moon's romantic relationship, including him reading the files of the Suicide Squad recruits after Waller delivers them to him."
"Another scene where Flag and Moon are out on a date."
"Extended scene of Joker interrogating Captain Griggs, including the line, "I can't wait to show you my toys," which was in every trailer, but was removed from the movie."
"Joker and his men escaping after shooting up a restaurant. Harley, who is already affiliated with the Joker, follows them on a motorcycle and intercepts their car. Joker bangs his head against the glass in frustration."
"Joker and Harley then get into a fight, which ends with Harley pointing a gun at Joker's head. Joker sweet-talks Harley into lowering the gun, charming her, then backhands her across the face. Afterwards he sweet-talks her again and they kiss."
"Extended Ace Chemicals scene where Harley jumps into the chemicals. More bits of dialogue from Joker."
"Extended Batmobile chase scene with more interaction between Joker and Harley. One of the examples, presented in all the trailers, is the Joker punching the roof of his car."
"Harley using her baseball bat as a mock gun to play shoot at invisible foes."
"Extended scene of Joker breaking into the nanobomb manufacture facility to arrange for Harley's neck-bomb to be disabled."
"More interactions between Harley and Boomerang. Early cuts apparently included her really disliking him despite growing affectionate to all the other members of the squad."
"Extended bar scene with Harley taking everyone's orders. Deadshot calls for a shot, Katana wants whiskey, Croc and Boomerang settle for beer, Harley asks Diablo wants and he prefers water which she jokes, "is a good idea." The scene was featured in the trailers, but in the movie it cuts directly to Deadshot's speech about them all almost pulling the mission off."
"Removed several scenes with the Joker to repaint his relationship with Harley as more loving rather than abusive."
"Joker and Harley get into an argument after he rescues her in the hijacked helicopter. In early cuts he reportedly pushes her out to kill her, then the helicopter gets shot down. This was apparently reworked into the helicopter getting shot down first and Joker pushing her out to save her."
"Joker returns during the final battle in the subway station, face half-burnt from the helicopter crash, which apparently leads to a brief altercation with the Squad. He calls for Harley to escape with him but she refuses for once in order to help her friends, and the Joker escapes after throwing a live grenade at the group to cover his own escape."

I don't believe David Ayer saying the theatrical cut was his cut.
I just don't

i liked it!!! some of the editing was choppy tho and skipped parts especially when they were in midcity. margot and will definitely stole this movie, but that's probably cause the rest of the squad was payed dust and floated in the background

Wow, I loved this movie. The editing and the villain were my only issues but the characters/actors SHINE and the chemistry is so strong that I can be willing to overlook it. It's so ****ing fun. My cinema laughed at every scene that was suppose to be humorous.

I just saw it and I enjoyed it. Harley obviously stole the show and I love that she was the one who played the mind games with the witch and that the Joker played second fiddle to her.
I'm glad we didn't get too much of Jared and that they cut a lot of his scenes, all his antics and hyping up the character were beyond annoying.
Cara was ok, I was a bit surprised and loved seeing her in full costume but she's just not that pretty, someone else would have nailed her big costume, though she does work the part when she's in her more raggedy black costume.

CinemaScore:
PostTrak:
Quote:
Currently, per ComScore’s PostTrak, Suicide Squad has a 73% total positive score, which is the same that BvS slotted. As we mentioned earlier, the David Ayer movie is bringing in more females than BvS, 42% to 31%. Also per PostTrak, the combination of African American and Hispanic moviegoers made up a huge 41% of the audience with both audiences giving the film a whopping 81% positive score. The entire Suicide Squad cast was a major reason (at 34%) that people went to see the film, and as proof that Will Smith is still a massive summertime draw, 23% went because of him and 21% were compelled by the appearance of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Without question, even though Suicide Squad is an ensemble movie, it will also rank as Smith’s best domestic weekend opening of his career, outflanking 2007’s I Am Legend ($77M). Robbie’s previous weekend high at the B.O. was The Legend of Tarzan at $38.5M. Thirty-two percent also told PostTrak that they came out for Suicide Squad because it’s part of a franchise they love. And if you’re wondering about how those awful reviews factored into moviegoers’ decision to watch Suicide Squad, well, they’re having very little impact: only 4% said they were influenced by reviews to watch this latest DC feature adaptation.

I actually really enjoyed it despite it's issues. A 7/10 for me. It's frustrating because all the potential is there and I really felt like with minor tweaks it could've been 10/10.
The editing was annoying because all of these characters are intriguing and extended scenes about their past and present and more dialogue between them (like the moments at the bar and when
Harley and Deadshot discussed how they were gonna escape
) would've been completely welcomed. The movie just felt like it was chopped up to make it shorter. The plot was pretty simple and the movie felt more character driven, but then the characters weren't fleshed out enough and half of them were paid dust entirely. Despite that, I still felt like the characters ( Harley) carried the movie. Also, I think the film would've also benefited from being R-rated and having even more Harley.
Harley really was e v e r y t h i n g. I didn't find Enchantress as bad as some of y'all did, but she was definitely
better before her brother gave her his power and she transformed
. I actually really enjoyed Boomerang and thought he's been quite underrated. Flag (and the June Moone romance) was bland and annoying and had too much screen time. Also, it can't be said enough that Katana was done SO wrong.
I definitely feel like the reviews this is getting is super unwarranted though. I could see a potential sequel being much much better.

B+ Cinemascore, slightly better than B which BvS and Green Lantern got (still horrible for a fun blockbuster, even that tragic Alice movie has A-)
Fire Zack Snyder before he buries Justice League with his 'golden' touch.

I think this is more evidence they need to just make a Harley solo movie.

#@!#: the critics seriously, movie was awesome.
I loved the fast pacing like 40 mins in and it feels like the climax already unlike BvS that drags and drags.

I was reading all the deleted scenes and comments seems like the movie was kinda different maybe it would've been better before they changed it?

Checked it out last night.
I liked the movie, but I see how critics didn't. They kinda overdid Harley Quinn's character, I get she's a big part of the franchise as a whole so I'm thinking this will lead into her own spinoff.
Also, didn't read the storyline before hand, so didn't know anything about the
battle with Enchantress. I legit thought she was a 'good guy' lol.
Saw it in IMAX D-BOX. I dunno if that's a Canadian thing but the chair moves and vibrates so if was an awesome touch for the fight scenes or in the helicopters the chair would tilt forward.

Oh and I'm sooooo excited to see downtown Toronto in the movie! I was on a mandate with my friend I met at Gwen Stefani the day before and we loved to point out the stores.
