I know many Coldplay fans who hated the song before even hearing it. There are many snobs in the Coldplayers community and they all think that Coldplay should only make one type of song.
I'm sure if this song was by someone else, they would all love it. I don't think they hate the song but rather the idea of Coldplay making a song like this. I tell them that they take music too seriously. Music should be fun and artists shouldn't be put in small boxes.
