I have heard of R.E.M. though; pretty sure my parents have one of their albums... But I've never listened to that either.

Well, only few ppl from today's generation that ever heard about ORB. Not really suprised. lol.
Woot. R.E.M was such a great band. Your parents know good music I see.
Shame they disbanded after THAT long.

My parents know some good music. I actually looked through the CD collection this weekend and found a few James Taylor, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Eagles, Billy Joel and R.E.M. discs. However, most of those albums haven't been played since before I was born.
Imagine my disgust when I saw how many Toby Keith discs there were; my father stans for him.

My parents committed the ultimate sin and threw away all of their CD cases. Fortunately, I managed to rescue the ones I cared most about.
They're quite idiotic like that; they go to the store and then buy a physical album, only to download it to iTunes and throw away the case and never use the disc again. I don't think they know yet that iTunes is usually cheaper.
My dad loves Red Solo Cup. Plus he knows that I hate it, so he turns it on extra loud when it comes on the radio and we're in the car. FML.

That is unforgiveable.
Well, at least it adds the physical album sales, so all is good. lol.
Btw, why do they choose CD? Vinyl records are WAY better than CD. Trust me. Besides, there's a version of turntable now where you can plug USB on it, so it will able make a mp3 format that you can listen at computer. I haven't seen it by myself tho, but I'm really interested in it.
God saves your ears. That song was the most horrible song that I've ever heard. A song about a disposable drinkware that equals to craptastic songs by teenpop acts.

Taylor recommended these following songs to a fan that met her at London:
Naleigh Moon by Josh Kelley (cause it is completely adorable and he’s so awesome..)
Unlike Me by Kate Havnevik,
Valotte by Julian Lennon (it’s so catchy and he sounds like his dad!)
Renegade by Paramore (it’s my go-to dance party song! Hayley sounds so awesome!)
And In Search Of Peter Pan by Kate Bush (it’s so gorgeous. Listen to it, her voice is so remarkable!)
Source
Wow. Still downloading. They all sounds good.

You can't have it all or you will go to everywhere but the bottom. I prefer to see Taylor stay relevant for at least 15 to 20 years from now with no hit single & not too many awards, rather than watching her on that kind of show.
It's always been my nightmare with Taylor when she broke out the mainstream seal in 2008. You know, at alternative scene, you can have a 3 decades long without constantly to be talked if you keep working hard (See: The Flaming Lips, R.E.M, and almost 5 decades long - Oak Ridge Boys).
|
That is true. Whenever you get a #1, you usually have to continue topping the charts or else you'll be known as a one hit wonder. But Michael and Madonna has multiple hits and I mean, their careers did fine.
And I've noticed that. I remember Googling R.E.M. and was shocked at how long their career lasted.

No words for Ours. The good start quickly faded.
And, she's not becoming irrelevant. Fourth album will prove that. Now wait till you see how everyone will rave about her grammy performance.

Kworb's estimate sales for the week:
36. Taylor Swift - Ours: 50,202
Total estimate sales:
Ours: 634,902 + 50,202 = 685,104
In 1 week Ours will have more dowloads than mean had in its push week (with +40M airplay), so it's doing great digitally.
I hope that it's only slowing down on country, and I think it'll have a second wing, Maybe they want Lady Antebellum and blake to peak before ours (?)
I want this to peak on late march or even april, so it can be 2xplatinum someday!

Shes not becoming irrelevant at all, just because she hasnt sent a song to top 40 radio since TSOU doesnt meant she hasnt had immense success on country radio, her core format. Thats probably why you think that, since you havent heard a new Tay song there for a while. Shes still very much relevant And Mine and BTD were hits on top 40 even if TSOU underperformed. Wait for next era to make such snap judgement

I know this is totally inappropriate and I'm sorry but when Taylor sings with 'hot' boys on tour, she looks a bit frisky?

Hehe, I remember I was listening to the top 40 countdown in the UK and they predicted/thought TSOU could hit #1. Only because she gave a free gig.
