"She Ain't You"...I thank him for not ****ing up a classic. For the simple fact he blended vocal and production elements from both the original AND SWV's sampling...GENIUS.
I'll be bumpin' this album until I get tired of it.
No we knew the Songs For Japan would straight to #1 on iTunes and that Adele get lots of her sales from the Digital market. Though i'm nervous that the Songs For Japan sells enough to knock Chris off #1 for the upcoming Billboard chart! But i think Chris will make it!
I predict:
#1 Chris
#2 Songs For Japan
#3 Jennifer Hudson
Well Jennifer is predicted to sell 160-170k and The Strokes and Adele is predicted to do less than 100k each! So Jennifer will definitely be infront of them!
After Graffiti failing to make any impact on the charts 15 months ago, Brown is back again to regain his fanbase and prove that he can stand up to the challenges and adversity that he is facing with society due to the trials and tribulations he has faced in the past. Forgive All My Enemies is now a stronger regain to form for Chris as he sounds confident and is ready to show what he has to prove. The first track Deuces which we have all know and love is from his mixtape of last year and has been on our summer playlists and even Grammy nominated. The album showcase some elements of Chris at his best. On songs like No ******** (another mixtape track) , She Ain't You and Should've Kissed You; we see the Chris that we have all love from his early years. That Pop/R&B smoothness that what makes him such a star. The Hip Hop Afrojack track Look AT Me Now is definitely the most Explosive and interesting track on the album due to its arrangement and genius production.
However the album has definitely has some low points on songs like on the generic Wet The Bed and cheesy pop lyrics in the song Next 2 You which features current teen pop heavyweight which paints a picture of Chris' innocence on love. The album is somehow well varied as there are tracks that cover a multiple of genres from Soul/R&B, Pop, Dance House, Electro and Hip Hop. Chris definitely has poured his heart out on this album and it shows on album standouts "All Back" and my personal favourite "Beautiful People" which features Benny Bennassi. if this is how Chris treats his enemies, i would love to see how he treats his friends because this album is a solid effort.
Best Tracks : Deuces, Yeah 3x, Beautiful People, All Back
Disposable: Up 2 You, Wet The Bed, Say It With Me
Best Deluxe Tracks : Bomb and Paper Scissors Rock
did sales for first week count only until today or do they count the whole 7 days of the week and we get the final numbers like tues/wed ?
Sales weeks are typically Tuesday-Monday. HDD posts their final numbers on Tuesday but theirs are just an estimation based on callouts to retail stores. Billboard post the final, most accurate numbers on Wednesday and they are actually based on Soundscan.
