Um, the only things these could possibly be are XY sequels or a new generation. Like, there's no other logical options.
If it's the former, then they've curiously tossed all sequel naming conventions right out the window. Plus, connecting the actual moon and sun to Zygarde is a stretch and a half, as of right now at least.
We know the cores get energy from photosynthesis, but what would the moon have to do with anything? Additionally, this isn't a link to the sun directly, but more to the fact that Zygarde's main focus as a Pokemon is with the natural ecosystem. The only thing that can be connected to the moon is Xerneas via its Fairy type and said type's signature damaging move, Moonblast. That's also more implicit than explicit, and leaves no true connection to the sun (which Yveltal can clearly not represent in any way).
While it might not be infeasible for Zygarde's complete forme to deal with the sun and moon as components of the earth's natural ecosystem, I'll note that we don't have evidence of that forme existing in the games just yet. It's almost certain that it will at some point, since Zygarde's curiously low stats indicate that it's intended to receive a Kyurem-like upgrade in another version or versions, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it will happen in these hypothetical paired versions. It would be the biggest loose end to not be tied up within a generation, but not the first loose end in general.
I don't know what to expect from these games. I loved Gen 6 so far obvi, but I'm not keen on the idea of staying in Kalos when there's so much more opportunity. If we do stay in Kalos, they'd do well to introduce significant alterations, more significant than the Sinnoh climate change and maybe on the scale of the adjustments made to the Unova map. If these are Gen 6 games, they have a lot of work to do in order to differentiate these games from X and Y and in order to explain just what connection the titles could hold to the region or its existing Pokemon.
However, I'd hesitate to bet on this being Gen 7 already - something tells me that it's a little too soon for that to happen. Just a feeling. I'd probably be even more excited for a Gen 7 introduction than more of Gen 6, but the likelihood of Gen 7 starting already is in all honesty very slim when Gen 6 will have barely turned 3 when these games would hypothetically be released.
It's interesting to note, though, that the logo style is different from either of the two sets of Gen 6 games we have so far, but has similarities with X and Y's logos (with the moon and sun symbols being where the letters were for the other two). Logo styles between prequels and sequels/third versions have never substantially changed it design.
