Self-Titled maybe deserved it more album wise but LEMONADE was more of a MOMENT and had far more meaning and a purposeful feel to it. She deserves it alone for that (and also for being snubbed for AOTY when she did deserve it).

Beck did deserve his win though, I mean he played every single of the instruments on his album + produced/wrote every single song.

To be honest, Self-titled was a bigger moment. The night of the surprise release was so memorable. Then it sold 600k+ in the first week and Beyoncé ended up being all over the media for the entirety of 2014. The visuals of the album were all so stunning.
Lemonade's hype lasted three weeks after the movie and the surprise effect didn't feel as grand since we kind of had an idea the movie would bring new music. Not to forget that Self-titled had an actual hit and Formation just barely made it into the top ten.
If B7 ends up being another surprise release, I don't know if people are going to gag as much.
