That's irrelevant if you're making $$$ from the singles, tours, endorsements, etc.
Look at it as an actual era - which is what Nicki's accountants will be doing. The "Roman Reloaded" era is more successful than the "Pink Friday" era. End of discussion.
YMCMB will be more than pleased with a likely-2-million-selling-by-year's-end album worldwide that shifted likely-25M+ singles, two world tours including a major arena tour, and led to endorsement deals with Pepsi, Adidas, Macy's, OPI, Mac, etc. and the cementing of Nicki as a major superstar celebrity.
I guess some of you just don't get it, and probably never will. It's annoying.

@willy i agree with you 100% i think everything Nicki does is for a reason she may want to experimental and risky at time but she still wants to be successful and push her way up the ladder, especially with the fact that time isn't on her side with her being older and etc. i feel like sometimes we as fans forget how things could be on nicki side ya know ?
the generic pop singles did get her alot of recognition in some countries we have to remember to count the benefits regardless of where they come from and everything still works in the greater good for Nicki's name to be expanded

And each single release is getting her labeled as a sell-out, bringing in low album sales, and is what made PF:RR not very enjoyable. Is the price of money and more success that much to the point where you have to dumb yourself down and produce generic music? Nicki isn't a singles artists and you need to accept that cause ALBUM SALES >>>>> SINGLE SALES. Getting her more fans? Most of you only hopped on the Super Bass bandwagon and now that's ALL some of you expect her to do. It's a sad fact that she has to rely on generic chart toppers just to get more success and global attention when she's clearly a HIP-HOP artist. I RESPECT, PRAISE, PURCHASE, and STAN FOR THE WOMAN. How am I selfish? Cause I want an even amount of pop and rap? Because I don't want her to just produce generic pop songs? No...and these same ones she's focusing on are te same ones who aren't even BUYING HER ALBUM. She thinks he can just put out whatever she wants and no one finds an issue, when with this era, that's not the case. Now she knows she needs to put effort and quality into everything she does....no more just throwing **** together and thinking it sounds good. If you think neglecting your CORE FANBASE, the ones who ride with you and have been with you through everything just to get some more global success and treat the other half of your fanbase more instead of equally, is a smart decision, then I would HATE to see what a stupid decision is.

I don't like how you're defining "generic pop" as "bad pop". There's nothing wrong with Nicki's pop songs being a bit like other people's, because Nicki's characteristics and image better suit those songs than most other popstars anyway, and Nicki raps on her songs.
Next album/EP will probably have her experimenting with her sound more. Darker and edgier?

She can treat both sides equally while still giving quality music that we ALL can enjoy instead of singling another part out. That's what your not getting. Your so busy focused on the sales you can't even see the fact that this stuff she's producing and putting out is beneath her. That's all and you probably don't get it.

I can't enjoy what my fav is doing because I'm not enjoying the material. If I wanna post several times a day (which I haven't) how much I don't like the era and vent my frustration, I am allowed to, and if you have an issue, ignore the post and move on. Nobody is dragging each other...just debating. There are no insults. I can stan, but I don't have to cosign with everything she does and be satisfied with it. Deal. 
But anyway, excited for this new project. I'm anticipating it.
