I understand your point that it will not catch on with the general public; it likely won't be a top 10 hit in the US or most other countries, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Gaga shouldn't release it. Gaga can do whatever the **** she wants. I'm tired of fans whining about songs underperforming and Gaga making "bad" decisions. Yes, it's perfectly fine to be "realistic" and "pessimistic" but the point that Gaga is flopping and will continue to flop if she releases X Y or Z as a single has been beaten to death already. Did it ever occur to you or some other fans that it's possible that Gaga values her own artistry and integrity over commercial success? Isn't that why many of us stan for her: that she doesn't need to perform sexual favors for generic hitmaking producers to actually be successful? And so what if Gaga has---god forbid---a TOP 30 hit? A few "underperforming" singles will not ruin her career. Gaga is far too talented and far too clever for that to happen. Not to mention the fact that what Gaga achieves when she is "underperforming" most of the rest of the music industry would kill for. If Gaga wants to release Heavy Metal Lover, then she will release it. Ultimately, it is HER music, HER career, and HER artistry, and we, as fans, should respect that. No revolutionary, legendary music artist has ever gone their whole careers without underperforming not just with singles, but with whole albums and even multiple albums. Lady Gaga is no different. While in the long run, yes, it will be important for her to be commercially successful if she wants to remain as culturally and musically relevant as she has been, right now one more supposed "flop" or even a few more won't tarnish her overall legacy as a music artist. She has much more music to make, and let's all just honestly enjoy the music, videos, and performances has and will continue to give us, no matter what her future decisions are.
