In all fairness, the video looks pretty expensive and I'm sure Beats didn't pay for 100% of the expenses just to get a 6-second promo, so unless Cici (or Russell ) paid for the rest, Epic's "Jackie" budget is probably dangerously close to running out.

Tweet @lisaellis. They definitely need to get her on some late night shows, if not the VMAs...

For get an award show. What little budget they have left need to go to radio. Pay some pop stations to play the song for a push until she gains on rhy and urban.

Can we be brutally honest and face the fact that no label will pay serious money to push a song that's not in the top 100 on iTunes despite an expensive, successful video?
I'm still optimistic, this song is too good to go to waste. But I don't expect much from Epic in the next few weeks, until radio decides if they want the song or not.

It was much higher on iTunes after the video came out and it had peaked really high upon release (thanks to their fanbase), so it had already made a little income for them.
DLWML is an incredible song. I have no idea why it's not charting well on iTunes, but it's rising in views and slowly picking up on radio, so I'm focusing on the positives for the most part.

Csquad isn't buying or gifting or letting people know it exists.
Meanwhile, 5h's fans shoved Bo$$ down every place possible. For example, Saturday Night Live (which is a great place for CSquad to start), attacking specific djs from major radio stations and stuff like that. It all starts with radio yet nobody (epic or the fans) want to try. This is essentially a pop single with urban appeal so, it needs a push on pop formats. Simple as that. Someone needs to start pushing it or it'll peak at Top 30 on Urban, die and we'll all be begging for single #3 which will probably do even worse (unless it's that's how i'm feeling with a pop radio date and controversial video)

True, but Ray Bans and Chrysler paid a lot too.

I still believe in this single. We'll see what happens in terms of adds on Tuesday and we'll know if the video had an effect on that. Also, we should hear about TV performances or radio tour dates between next week and the week after.

Now seeing this, they should have waited until the song was at least 1000 on iTunes, to drop the video. Why drop a video so early when radio isn't even fully sold on the single? Feels premature and like a mistske in the making if they don't do a radio tour or some kinda of radio effort for this single.

I'm assuming they thought radio wouldn't really play it. I Bet underperformed on rhythmic and Ciara hasn't been played on pop for years, so they wanted to create buzz that the minimal urban support the song was guaranteed to have wouldn't be able to generate. That's just an assumption though. I've noticed a lot of labels release the videos too early only in cases when there's no hype (Tove Lo's Timebomb) or there's too much hype about the previous single that needs to die quick (Katy's Birthday after DH).

Of course soon after writing this I see a Ciara tweet linking to DLWML on iTunes in my feed! Be honest, which one of you hacked her account?
(I tried to copy the link to the tweet but I think it's one of those ad tweets that doesn't show up on their profile. It's not on hers, anyway. But it's a step in the right direction for sure!)

So, she tweeted it but it's not on her profile? I hate Twitter, so I don't know how it works
