''Sorry'' did OK. Now hoping ''Hung Up'' and ''Music'' will last longer.

I wonder where "Stan" will place? I love the song but it would be weird if a song by a male lead artist is too high in a females rate.
I wish it was "Thank You" instead.

23. Lily Allen- The Fear (8.026)
(Ya'll think it's creepy that this spells out 'Sia'?)
Highest score: 10 x14 (Stevie, HaHa2011, supaspaz, JDella11, lovesong, superben, adrianbeane, Regina George, Sporefan, berberocka, VJoker, Chemist, Dream, Ace Reject)
I think the gerls are going to EXTERMINATE you: 0 x1 (Strangergab)
An unflattering picture of Lily:
Oh wow. Why isn't this in your Top 10? Why isn't it even in your Top 20? Questions need answers!
I don't like this bitch. Receipts:
"I'll tell you where the inspiration for it came from. I was walking down this street, in this village in the middle of the countryside in the U.K., and there was this little girl who must have been eight or nine, walking down the street with her mum in, like, high-waisted hot pants and a little crop top. And I just thought, 'That's not really right.' And I could tell she was the kind of girl that would be trying out for Pop Idol in five years time"
And ya'll know she was shading my Cher Lloyd.
The lyrics, though facetious and clichéd on the surface, all about the ills of consumerism- actually hide a few nuggets. "I'll look at The Sun and I'll look in The Mirror, I'm on the right track, yeah, we're onto a winner", for instance, was a shady punch at the way the British tabloids report on her. WELL, if you didn't drag Cher before you knew who Cher even was, there wouldn't be a problem.
Upon the song knocking Just Dance off the top, Gaga was quoted as saying:
"I'm very familiar with Lily's music and good job Lily for knocking me off. There always deserves to be a female on top and I don't want to be the only one to do it."
Lily (Allen) has since retired from music, without a #1 single since. A coincidence, I think not..
Jinzo's verdict: 4
I just.....don't get her talk-singing. It sounds babyish. I can appreciate the lyrical intellect, but the vocals have never done a thing for me- especially on a song like this.

Womp. Not even that great of a song. I gave it a 5
LOL @Madonna. Completely forgot about that song.

Great song, not surprising Strangergab gave it a zero. I love her voice and style of singing.
She sort of reminds me of Elly Jackson, personality wise. Her shade is the truth.

''The Fear'' is a brilliant track. I love it.
And it's the 1st one with an average of above 8!

American Boy
The Fear
Sorry
Well its Madonnas worst song in this competition in my opinion. Should have been gone a long time ago.

"Sorry" did better than it needed to, but it's a good song.
"The Fear" is amazing. Top ten would have been much appreciated, especially considering what we have left at this point.

Uh oh.....
22. Christina Aguilera- Beautiful (8.118)
Highest score: 10 x16 (backtoback, supaspaz, Green, Strangergab, Cassiopeia, superben, tell_me_a_lie, airbornE, Kool_Aid_King, berberocka, boyamama, VJoker, Flashing Lights, Soma80, keshaspearsxo, MP2K)
It would be a Cher Lloyd hater, wouldn't it: 0 x1 (Mandarke)
More unflattering Christina pictures. They're literally everywhere:
And ermm.....another big girl is punched out!
It was Born This Way, just 9 years too early. Gaga still had her original nose at this point in time. The song was originally demo-ed for Pink in the process of creating Mizundastood, but writer Linda Perry declined. Thank f*ck, no one needs those woolly mammoth-ass vocals ruining this. Instead, Perry allowed the gorilla-ass vocals of Xtina to ruin it instead.
Quickly following the commercial disaster that was Dirrty in the US, they released this song to radio quicker than Beyoncé releases a fist into Michelle's eyelids. It got her back into the Top 10. (We're still waiting on #27 on iTunes SMASH Your Body).
But, in spite of all my gritty dragging, this actually won a GLAAD award as well as recognition by Stonewall for its positive representation of the LGBT community.
It's been covered by everyone from Guns n' Roses to Insane Clown Posse since. Truly when she was at her most global. And not global as in "size of the globe".
Jinzo's verdict: 3
I just don't like it. It feels so....obvious. I like when a ballad this soft allows itself to reveal itself to you, to retain a sense of mystery, not just lay it all out like a map. You Lost Me and The Voice Within run absolute rings round this in the ballad stakes.

I was so nice to "Beautiful." My opinion about that song changes with the time of the day.

'Beautiful' is....unusual.
Sometimes I appreciate it while at other times it feels like a cheesy sing-in-the-mirror Disney movie song.
As for 'The Fear', I love this song (gave it a 10) but I am happy with its position.

The clairvoyance.....
21. Eminem ft. Dido- Stan (8.312)
Highest score: 10 x16 (HaHa2011, backtoback, Strangergab, Cassiopeia, JDella11, dinorel, airbornE, Sporefan, berberocka, boyamama, onthe6, classicmainstream, Soma80, keshaspearsxo, Konichiwa, MP2K)
Lowest score: 0 x2 (Dream, Stevie)
So irrelevant it's difficult to find an unflattering picture:
Any ATRL user needs absolutely no introduction to this song. It's what your lexical choices are based on. This song is where it all began. Stan tells the story of the stalker fan. F*cking Dido is an absolutely fundamental building block to the very core foundations of ATRL culture, how weird is it to think that?
Back in the day, Dido was the early-century Adele. No Angel sold over 21 million copies. It went 9x platinum in the UK. There were 7 singles. Life for Rent slayed similarly, 13 million copies worldwide, 7x platinum in the UK and double-plat in the US. Adele, but at a lower risk of heart disease.
Back then, 'Stan' was lyrically enveloped as this:
"So this is the cassette I'm sending you, I hope you hear it. I'm in the car right now doing 90 on the freeway... See Slim, (screaming) shut up bitch I'm trying to talk! Hey Slim, that's my girlfriend screaming in the trunk... Well gotta go, I'm almost at the bridge now. Oh ****, I forgot, how am I supposed to send this **** out?"
Nowadays, it's Internet queens flaming each other's bussies out screaming out the sales of Rihanna's albums and Katy Perry's latest hair colour. How times change.
A Stan 2 was touted by Swizz Beatz in 2009. Eminem declined. He offered to Lil Wayne in 2011 for Tha Carter 4; renamed Anne. Lil Wayne declined. So you'll probably find it on Nicki Minaj's desperate Re-Up thing in a matter of weeks.
Jinzo's verdict: 4
So I'll get crucified for this...but I've never really connected with the song at all. It feels too....over-encompassing a story to tell in a hit song. It felt more like a filmic event than a song I could play on the radio and listen along to. Maybe because it was 2000 and I was 9 at the time.

"Stan" is an interesting case. I feel like I respect its ambition more than I actually like it, but there's definitely something there. It probably did as well as any male-fronted song should in a rate for the ladies.
