They did with Kendrick...he got a 2nd nomination following the backlash over the 1st snub. they still gave it to someone else.

5 (max score) x 2 = 10
3,5 (what they gave) x 2 = 7

I think after Taylor's win & the #OscarsSoWhite controversy - people are starting to understand the frustration. With "Lemonade," the Grammy's have a chance to redeem themselves. Will they? We will see next year.
