Ronnie and Roxy were my favourite characters, why the **** did the producer kill them off?

I'm so upset they both died. I wanted them to have a happy ending.

Some of that episode was just bizarre. When did Eastenders become Skins? Ronnie and Roxy were two of the show's ONLY redeeming factors, God help me if queen Sharon leaves any time soon.

I think it's only a matter of time before this show gets axed, unfortunately. All the classic characters are going, the storylines suck, and none of the new characters bring ANY substance to the show. I used to love it so much too - hopefully the new producer is booted and it's brought back to life somehow.

Loved tonight's episode but UGH at the two best characters being killed off. There's literally no redeeming classic characters left bar someone like Dot!

The style of filming and writing gave me serious Emmerdale teas lately. Loved the dance floor scenes of Roxy off her **** The final scene

Apparently Ronnie has acting credits in an episode next week, so is she still alive? Weird that she would be credited in an episode - unless she's playing a corpse and Jack is viewing her body or something?

It also might not be the producer who wanted them to die - it could have been the two women's decision - like when Barbara chose for Peggy to die.

Kind of a stupid ending for two iconic characters though. It was visually stunning but stupid. They've survived rape, serial killers, gangstas, kidnapping.. but get killed by a tangled dress? Nah...

How did Roxy become unconscious? We see her jump in the pool and then she's just laying at the bottom, dead. What?


Them having so many bloody shots of the clocks and time were annoying also... It was a good episode but they shouldn't have been killed off.

I agree it was almost too sudden and silent. I think we're supposed to see it as Roxy out of her mind on drugs so that she couldn't function fully and went unconscious underwater, so Ronnie tried to rescue ha in that big ass dress got it lapped round both of them and died. RIP

Kinda sad how each of their 'habits' ended up killing them (drugs/weddings, a kii).

They'd both been drinking a ton, it affects your ability to react - if you jump in a pool and go under it could stop you coming up to the surface.

Add into the mix she might have been on drugs already, potentially could have hit her head, or anything... it's quite likely she would have drowned from alcohol alone - it happens.

Ronnie and the dress was unrealistic though. Like how did she not notice her sister drowning and how even if the dress is heavy and weighing you down you can still swim back up even tangled lol. But I guess Ronnie had been drinking too so if she got tangled she might not have time to react the drink would have slowed her down and the shock would have got her.

Sad ending for them both :/

It shows Roxy dead on the pool table at the wedding and then Ronnie collapsing in hospital crying.

I wonder why they chose to kill both of them instead of just Roxy. Bring back Ronnie smh.

Literally this. Roxy was by far the weaker character of the two - maybe you're onto something that it was their decision to both be killed off. They probably wanted to leave together cause they've always been such an iconic duo since they arrived together

I never even factored the alcohol, kinda obvious when you say it lol. Ugh I'm so pissed they're gone they should've championed the square for YEARS like Peggy and Pat

At least they died together but honestly it would've been more interesting if they killed off Jack nnn oh well, it was a pretty good episode! can't wait for the next. I'll check out the alternative ending.

While I like Roxy I could've done without her but Ronnie? One of the best characters?

When is he leaving and why couldn't he have died instead? I'm really not sure why so many people seem to be feeling sorry for him when the robbery was his own god damn fault.

The cinematography was phenomenal.
I'm starting to realise New Years is just going to be better than Christmas episodes, this has happened twice in a row

Imagine, making an attempt to get out of a pool, drunk whilst wearing a wedding dress. Their death made complete sense. Not to mention Roxy probably has drugs in her system still.

I'm glad they ended with a bang tbh, they're so iconic if they ended going in a car to Ongar

Ronnie is an amazing character. From being a survivor of rape, killing Carl and Fatboy, dealing with her ****** parents, her sister sleeping with Jack, losing her children and going going to prison. I'll miss her forever.

Her, Kim & Stacey were always my faves
