Ehh ignore Adam’s album and Flo Isn’t an album artist so moving on (the singles are party killers tho). Banks just run that ball and made it bigger and better. 1991 serves the Music Scene well. I liked the Civil War part of the song but hey like how you describe about it. and I don’t care for T.H.E. Nice set and cant
Wait to see more better songs/

JEIBERT's Best of 2012 | aLBUm 42; sINGLEs 80-78; aRTISt 25
*Lay-out suits best in LiveWire color scheme
KENDRICK LAMAR - "good kid, m.A.A.d city"
| Released: October 22, 2012
Genre: West Coast hip hop, gangsta rap
Label: Top Dawg, Aftermath, Interscope
Producer: Dr. Dre (exec.), Anthony "TOPDAWG" Tiffith (exec.), Dawaun Parker, DJ Khalil, DJ Dahi, Hit-Boy, Jack Splash, Just Blaze, Like, Pharrell Williams, Rahki, Scoop DeVille, Skhye Hutch, Sounwave, T-Minus, Tabu, Terrace Martin, Tha Bizness, THC
TOP 5 TRACKS:
01. Swimming Pools (Drank)
02. Poetic Justice (featuring Drake)
03. Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe
04. Real (featuring Anna Wise)
05. Backseat Freestyle
Probably this is one of the best debut albums of the year and so far the most solid debut delivery or even the general in the rap genre this year! Listening this on first listen had me feeling it has an instant classic and timeless sound all over it. Anyways, the production is really ace! I love the use of such instrumentations on every track to create a unique atmosphere while not losing its overall appeal as a record. I've first heard Kendrick about that very anticipated Lady Gaga collaboration but last minute, it was not included here but for later release. For future purposes maybe?
Last Year's #42: Keri Hilson - "No Boys Allowed" |
RECAP: 65-64 | 63 | 62-61 | 60 | 59-58 | 60 | 57 | 56-55 | 54 | 53-52 | 51 | 50-49 | 48 | 47-46 | 45 | 44-43
REBECCA FERGUSON - "Too Good to Lose"
| "...''Hear my prayer now, Just say the word and I could be there no, Oh I say my prayer now, Just give me time and I will be there now, Oh, you’re too good to lose, You’re too good to lose, You’re too good to lose, You’re too good to lose..."
Album: Heaven

Producer(s): Eg White, Mike Spencer (single version)
Weeks on Chart: 8 weeks
Peak Position: #09
At #80, is my most favorite X-factor contestant ever! The gorgeous and ever stunning Queen Rebecca Ferguson makes her opening entry at my Best of list with this unexpected song! Actually, in my opinion, her label can just pick any song to choose as a single but choosing this as one really surprised me! The video for the song is just perfect for the carefree vibe of the production as Rebecca strolls with her red gown along the Venice Beach and it reminds me of those 90's one take music videos ala Massive Attack "Unfinished Sympathy".
Last Year's #80: Rihanna - "What's My Name?" (feat. Drake) |
KELLY CLARKSON - "Dark Side"
| "...Everybody's got a dark side, Do you love me?, Can you love mine?, Nobody's a picture perfect, But we're worth it, You know that we're worth it, Will you love me?, Even with my dark side?.."
Album: Stronger
Release Date: June 5, 2012
Genre: Pop rock, synthpop
Length: 3:44
Label: RCA
Writer(s): busbee, Alexander Geringas
Producer(s): Greg Kurstin
Weeks on Chart: 12 weeks
Peak Position: #08
This was also one of the songs that grew on me late already. Since back when the album was released, it was not one of the songs that I play for a listen, but I can't deny its potential to smash. So when it was released as a single, I gave it finally a chance. The main factor that the song grew on me, was how the lyrics tell us the listeners, its very meaningful and relatable besides the bit cheesy and cliche video. Once again, the close ups of Kelly are flawless, and now I'm glad she released this one to bring us unique message of the song
Last Year's #79: Foster the People - "Call It What You Want" |
KEYSHIA COLE - "Enough of No Love" (feat. Lil' Wayne)
| "...Can't say I'm not hurt, I'll be damned if I'm broken, What we had is now hers, Let her know she can have it...Cause I-I can't stay here, if there's no love, Yeah I-I can't stay here, cause I've had enough, Enough of no love, enough of no love, No love!...."
Album: Woman to Woman
Release Date: July 3, 2012
Genre: R&B
Length: 3:49
Label: Geffen, Interscope
Writer(s): Keyshia Cole, Harmony Samuels, Sean Fenton, Dwayne Carter
Producer(s): Harmony
Weeks on Chart: 7 weeks (currently charting)
Peak Position: #01 (1x)
Never was I became more excited than before when the Princess of Hip-hop and soul announced that she would be coming with strong material. She started the era anew, new look, new weave, new management, and this! With Wayne on the track, it guaranteed her return form to the Top 10 of the R&B Charts. Channeling ala Rihanna "Russian Roulette" in the music video and serving choreography, this comeback cant be anymore perfect for me other than I want more success from it that it deserves.
Last Year's #78: Nicole Scherzinger - "Try With Me" |
RECAP: 125-123 | 122-120 | 119-117 | 116-114 | 113-111 | 110-108 | 107-105 | 104-102 | 101-99 | 98-96 | 95-93 | 92-90 | 89-87 | 86-84 | 83-81
| GIRLS ALOUD
Members: Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh
Origin: London, England, United Kingdom
Genres: Pop, electropop, dance-pop
Label: Polydor, Fascination
Website: girlsaloud.com
After having a hiatus on which the girls gave time and concentrated on their solo materials, one of my favorite girl groups of the music industry is back this year celebrating for their 10 years in the business. Regarded as the most successful girl group to come out from a reality show, Girls Aloud's presence is just good to be back! Despite rumours of not getting along together, they finally reconciled. Aside from the promising music they delivered this year, just seeing them 5 together complete guarantees this spot already for them!
