Mariah slammed for performing for Angolan president
Isn't she rich enough already?
Mariah Carey is under fire for playing a gig for Angolan president José Eduardo dos Santos, who, according to the Human Rights Foundation, has ordered the deaths of many politicians, journalists and activists who have protested his rule, which began in 1979. She was reportedly paid more than $1 million.
In the video, she's smiling. "I am happy to be here in this room, and I am honored to share this show with the president of Angola," she reportedly said.
This isn't the first time the diva has collected cash for performing for controversial figures. In 2008, she played for Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi. She later apologized, so why did she do it again? Her camp has not yet responded for comment.
"Mariah Carey can't seem to get enough dictator cash, reportedly more than $1 million this time," Human Rights Foundation president Thor Halvorssen said in a press release Thursday.
Carey is just one of a string of stars who've angered the public for playing for controversial figures. Usher, Beyonce (yes, Queen Bey), Jennifer Lopez and 50 Cent are all guilty. They all apologized and Beyonce, Usher and 50 Cent later donated their earnings.

Why did she do that? I hope that there's going to be some kind of explaining statement.
