Of course no artist would stay #1 by a fanbase. Her core fanbase is promoting it like it's their actual job because they know the only way to get it to the GP is to promote it. Look at the damn Circus (Hell, even Femme Fatale) era - both huge in terms of exposure, not ITZ huge but that was only because she wasn't in the mindset she is in now. Also, the world knew about Vegas and THAT is when everything changed. BJ was just not even liked by her label, fans, or self it was a compliment to the residency and that's it. It went nowhere because they couldn't even care less about it.

She is one of the biggest stars of our time. Promote the **** to get people to know your ass is back in the game. Stop following the damn FF release schedule copy.

Well, you gotta be right. Which would be undoubtedly the most depressing and moronic thing she has ever done. All these artists want that kind of legacy and for her to be purposefully taking it for granted is something I can't even see her doing. Later Circus, FF, and Early POM were headaches because it was clear that she didn't care and wanted out. Now, we ALL have been seeing glimpses of ITZ and Blackout - so I believe in my heart that she wants it. Especially since she delivered the masterpiece that is Make Me and Private Show. I'll see how this album release plays out because if she ain't fighting for her career, I sure as hell ain't.

This is Britney Freaking Spears, this is her signature **** ffs, the Army should know by now Britney doesn't promote. The Hive doesn't complain when Beyonce doesn't perform or promote

The Hive got only one award show performance this era so far just like Britney did.

Also the song just came out. and when Britney did promote in the FF era you all trashed the perfomances right from the gate

I still think she'll promote Make Me at it's normally scheduled time. She wrapped up this leg of POM and she ALWAYS goes on vacation after. No rush release is gonna make her cancel a vaca with her boys lol. She cares about her career and is gonna surprise a lot of people in the coming weeks when Make Me's promo campaign kicks in.

I think her team is handling things okay given the leak, but I think what frustrates me the most is that they have become complacent. They've known for at least two eras now that Britney doesn't want to promote anymore, which is plenty of time to come up with new, creative ways to promote. All of the other pop girls have teams that come up with new and innovative ways of promoting. Like with her album they could try packaging it like they do in South Korea: with tons of extras to help spur her physical sales. They could get a commercial with the song. They could get her an endorsement deal (she clearly doesn't mind photo shoots). They should be adapting but instead they have remained stagnant since Femme Fatale.

the song has been out for 3 days. it's sunday. y'all want her to go do **** drops in a church somewhere?

doing promo performances really doesn't make a song a hit anymore. it helps if it's on the verge, but pushing the song into playlists & radio helps waaaaaaay more.

the song was very obviously planned to drop on the 22nd. the fact that anyone is complaining about the video not being released when it might not even be finished is so beyond me.

Britney goddamn SPEARS hasn't done traditional promo in forever. Femme Fatale was the last time and even then, it wasn't great.

y'all won't let the damn song breathe before yelling at her/her team/her manager about promo. Selena Gomez dropped Good For You and has done maybe 1 performance of it on TV yet it was a HUGE hit. if the song is gonna be a hit, it will be. dragging her out to Fallon/SNL/GMA/ETC isn't going to turn it into a #1 for 18 weeks smash.

she released her best song in YEARS and i've seen nothing but whining from her stans on ATRL & Twitter. it's exhausting.

I see what your saying..but that FF release copy is NOT going to cut it nowadays. I, personally, would think it would be better to promote the **** WHEN THERE IS HYPE. The attention span the GP has nowadays towards artists is FAR shorter than when she released FF. That's why you have artists doing the absolute most to have the biggest campaigns imaginable. The thing with Britney is she can do and call anybody and not even have to work half as hard as her peers to get way more success.

Cant believe y'all are still complaining about promoting. Did you not remember her interview in 2011? She don't care for the spotlight anymore or the slaying the charts. She's just doing it for fun.
