Album equivalent units make just as much money as pure sales sis. Even if Joanne outsells Dangerous Woman by a bit, Ariana has sold 5.5x as many singles as Gaga has this era and her album has 7.5x as many Spotify streams and I don't see Gaga catching up.

ddd i'm not. I'm saying gaga is well past her prime but at least she's able to keep up with today's stars. she's not outright bombing like gurney, gwen, alicia and whoever else bombed this year.

If (more like when) Joanne hits 1M it will basically be on par with Lemonade. Lemonade's sales are inflated by her pandering to issues like the BLM movement and others. The album would not sell without that kind of exploitation.

If you wanna talk about it from a business standpoint, ok, they're selling about them same in SPS. Good for both of them. But that doesn't change the fact that DW's pure sales have been tragic showing she's a weak album seller. Get those free spotify streams tho. Let's see if she can keep up with the Joanne tour with the DW tour if we're talking money. The Honeymoon Tour vs artGRAVE doesn't look very promising.

there have been dozens of albums that touch on black pride this year, where are their sells? If anything "pandering" with BLM is more divisive and anti-sales than say, releasing a safe ~toned down~ ac album
