80/100 on Metacritic.
Totally in love with this album, so fresh, so dramatic and sad.

Some reviewer just confirmed what I've said before
Quote:
As a body of work, it only makes sense that this record would be called Honeymoon: This is her creative escape — from celebrity, from heartbreak and, most of all, from your ********. That she’s casually posing on a StarLine Tours sightseeing bus on the cover is a stroke of sarcastic genius.
We’re lucky to have her while we do, because one day, she may very well sail away with her man and never look back — or even croon another tune for us.[/qAs a body of work, it only makes sense that this record would be called Honeymoon: This is her creative escape — from celebrity, from heartbreak and, most of all, from your ********. “I’ll never sing again / And you won’t work another day,” she dreamily promises her lover as the strings swell on the album’s closer, the appropriately titled “Swan Song.” Wait. No more singing?

So Lana kinda inspired me because of Art Deco, and now I can say
I truly am "Shining like gun metal, cold and unsure"

I'm hoping the p4k review comes out tonight. Any predictions on her score? I'm guessing somewhere in the 6.0 - 6.6 range.

Around UV's or lower considering she didn't get any BNT mentions.

P4k review - 7.5. Overall pretty positive.
"It reminds of us something that was the very issue with Del Rey that irritated some early on—she knows exactly what she is doing. Honeymoon just synthesizes ideas she's been vamping on from the beginning into a unified work. She figured where she was going long before she got there; with Honeymoon she has finally arrived."

I really cannot believe this album is getting such reviews. I mean, I can, because I know it is a great album and deserves recognition, but so were/did BTD and UV. The critics are clearly here for her. I feel like bad reviews have to be coming, but I really want her to keep getting good reviews

I AM LITERALLY SCREAMING AT THE P4K'S REVIEW RIGHT NOW..
Everyone thought they would drag Honeymoon left and right
This album

The album luxuriates in this bleak space between dream and reality, which stretches endlessly from one melancholy track to the next. It's not until "The Blackest Day", eleven songs in, that Honeymoon's static depression gives way to apocalyptic ecstasy, as she croons "In all the wrong places /Oh my god" in gasping multi-tracked harmonies on the chorus. The moment is Honeymoon's emotional apex, but it still moves at the pace of a funeral march, and the release it depicts is that of embracing rock bottom.

It's so weird that she's had similar concepts and lyrics in the past but she didn't get it right like she has with Honeymoon. The instrumentals ebb and flow with her voice perfectly now, and she's not singing too poppy and clean (BTD) or too emotive and raging (UV). It's like she was trying out different sounds and she found out how to blend them perfectly in Honeymoon. I'm so happy it's worked out.

Yes this part describes Honeymoon very well. I feel the same way too. Her voice and the instrumentals on this record are like really balanced and soft to the ear

I think its bridge where she goes
Quote:
You should've known better
Than to have to let her
Get you under her spell of the weather
I got you where I want you
You did it, I never
I'm falling for forever
I'm dying again since
I got you where I want you
I got you, I got you
I got you where I want you now
|
and then this line
Quote:
It's not one of those phases I'm going through
Or just a song, it's no one else's
|
is the orgasm of the album. Such climax!
