You are over-exaggerating just a bit. Someone is confrontational.
You are talking to the person who was the original pessimist/realist in the original Gaga Born this Way thread. I know that HML probably won't do well, but what's the point of being negative before it even starts? Give things a change, have an open mind.
I like HML but the GP wouldn't and that's what matters. Judas, Y&I, TEoG, MtN... Interscope isn't going to keep paying for videos and singles that flop, it's a waste of time and money that can go to Madonna and Lana so Gaga needs to stop playing around and either release the only possible hit on BTW, Sheisse, or just start the tour, no more singles, and new era next year.
The only other possible option is Hair, but I think people might find that disingenuous.

Gaga will be relevant no matter what she releases. She will always have devoted fans. You seem a bit to devoted and concerned with her commercial success at the moment. One single not performing well isn't going to matter in the grand scheme of things.

It's not one single under-performing, it's a string of them. Anyway I'm off to bed, she'll do what she wants at the end of the day, until Interscope decides that it's not working anymore and start pulling the reins, which is inevitable, and will probably help her a lot in the long run. A lot more than self-directed videos and self indulgence that has led to a lot of flopped singles in 2011.

You mean one single? If fans are already going to start shaking with one underperforming single, can they even call themselves fans, let alone STANS? Oh my let's not be so immature now. Most of Gaga's fans are always complimenting her on her artistry and creativity, and then hate her when she wants to release her choice singles and direct her own videos.
Interscope isn't going to do anything to stop her. At this point she can do whatever she wants, even if she releases non-commercial singles and non-commercial albums, her fanbase is large enough that she will continue to sell well.
You are overreacting way too much. These new "monsters".
I see Geo spilling the true tea all over the thread. Releasing HML isn't a terrible idea. Everyone thought Judas and MTN would smash, and they didn't. If people think HML will flop, why not assume that the opposite could happen

I honestly don't care about the success of her singles from now on, I just want a single.

... people also thought You & I would flop too, if I remember correctly.

Only 2 singles in my opinion have under performed, yet one of them still made the top 10 around the world, including 10 on Billboard, 8 in the UK, 6 in Australia, 4 in Ireland, 3 in Japan to name but a few. Just because it underperformed in the US doesn't represent it's success around the world. Judas stayed in the UK top 20 basically from it's release until just before TEOG was officially released. And in terms of Marry the Night, why would people need to buy the song as a single, when the can purchase the album? How can you compare one flop single to the success she has had in the last couple of years.

I sense a pattern.
