I'm not really sad for Luca. He's so young he won't remember any disruption in his life, and his parents are doing joint custody and are both dedicated to him. Divorce does not always have to be a horrible thing in a child's life. I was glad when my parents split up when I was 9 and it's fourteen years later now and I'm still glad for it. My parents always remained friends and Hilary & Mike say that is their goal too. It's better to have happy parents apart than unhappy parents together. Luca will be just fine.

yeah, I can honestly say my parents divorce didn't hurt me in any way. my parents split when I was 1, and they have always been good and nice to each other, just like hilary and mike said they going to be. hopefully luca will be perfectly fine growing up with divorced parents.

I guess they weren't perfect for each other for this to happen. We can only guess what a marriage is like for someone in the spotlight when there are no cameras in their face.

Hilary has always been popular, she just has been out of the spotlight so long that one would never know it. I have seen many people do tweets like "Where is Hilary Duff at now? I wish she would come out with new music."

The whole split still feels so surreal to me
I feel bad for not posting my thoughts on Hil and Mike's split in the base thread yet. I'm glad that the split is amicable and that Hilary and Mike are being mature about it, not that I didn't think they would. I'm glad we all support her in this decision and understand why they can no longer be together. There's never a use in being in an unhappy marriage/relationship. Hope nobody tries to use the split against her as shade. There are some haters, but ultimately the gp are genuinely shocked, and that says a lot about how the gp perceives her.
I agree that a lot of the confirmed titles do sound like they can totally be about the split/their marriage. I know the Queen will channel her emotion into the songs, not only in the writing, but in her vocals too.

Hilary and Mike did a great job by bringing the news out now, because I don't think Hilary wanted to bring it out when she is sharing her new music. Because then the divorce had all her attention and the music maybe less. I am still not really believing that they actually are going to split. It still seems so weird. A lot of people say to me did they really split and then I am like... uhm yes I know?! But it was also when she got Luca it also seems so unreal that she had her first child. It needs time
So I am still confused guys!? Which label would be good for her and which one not? Something like that? Or what is your top 3?
Top 3 Labels that are good for her:
1) WMG
2) UMG
3) Capitol
Top 3 Labels that are bad for her:
1) Epic
2) RCA
3) EMI
Top 3 Single Audio Premiere
1) Vevo
2) Ryan Seacrest
3) Itunes
Top 3 Single Live Premiere
1) Today Show
2) Good Morning America
3) The Voice
Tell me your Top3! Would be fun to discuss about!!

This all makes sense now! Maybe "Hurts" is about the divorce!

Yep. Even if people aren't really aware of her right now, they still remember her and like her when they're reminded that she exists. There have been lots of times in recent years where I've mentioned her and people have said, 'Oh, yeah, I loved that song of hers [usually 'Come Clean']- what's she doing now?', and then they get excited when I tell them she's working on music. So, the interest is definitely there. I'm hoping nostalgia comes into play, too; like, the people who grew up with Hilary will see that she's putting out new music and check it out because they loved her back in the day.

I think a roll-out like that of Miley Cyrus' 'We Can't Stop' would be smart, as Hilary will be in a situation similar to Miley's in early 2013: a former Disney star who had tons of success years ago but whose last album didn't do as well as expected and who is brushed off by a lot of people as washed-up and past her prime. Like Miley, Hilary should premiere the single on Ryan Seacrest's radio show and then immediately afterward send it for adds and put it up on iTunes, Spotify, Vevo, etc. They should have a lyric video ready to go, too, with the real video to follow about two or three weeks later. It would be cool if she was able to premiere the video on one of the morning talk shows (GMA is my pick) and also perform the song for the first time while there. I'm keeping my expectations low, though. I just hope she does a decent promotional tour- GMA, The Today Show, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, Queen Latifah, Jimmy Fallon, etc., etc. Also, the Billboard Music Awards and the MTV Movie Awards should be happening right around the time the single is taking off (hopefully!), so appearances at those shows would be nice.

Hilary always premieres her singles on Ryan Seacrest or another radio show so yes, following in her own footsteps is a good idea. I agree with everything else except for the video premiere on GMA. I really think it should be a Vevo-Exclusive premiere at like noon or something. I just don't feel like the direction she's going in screams television premiere. The video also needs to be hyped up with two-to-three clips that don't show much, but are enough to gain interest.
The lyric video is essential. They should have that out a mere few seconds after that radio premiere.
I think they need to wait on shooting the video until right before the single premiere to avoid leaking.
As you said, the video premiere should follow the radio premiere about three weeks in. I don't expect many performances because the plan is for two singles before the album but at least four televised performances would be a good idea. Hopefully all of this will be set around the BBMA's so she can do a performance on there.

The BBMA's are on May 18th and the MTV Movie Awards are on April 13th. I could see her making an appearance at Movie Awards to hype up the single release a week or two later. Then she can make her debut performance on May 18th. She'd have to be in rehearsals for at least six weeks before.
Avery - I just realized that the timeline would fit in to what I was telling you through text.

I hope the lead single comes out on late march and she can performance at MTV Movie Awards (Sunday, April 13th)
Like:
Middle March: 15 Second promo video
Ryan S. Radio Premier: Mon. March 31st (Radio Promotion week)
Digital Download: Tue. April 01st (with I-Tunes Banner)
Lyric Video: Wed. April 02nd (Vevo Promotion)
Mainstream POP: Tue. April 08th
MTV Movie Awards Performance: Sun. April 13th
Mainstream RHY/HAC: Mon. April 14th
Video VEVO Premier: Thu. April 24th
Spotify Audio: Mon. April 28th (In order to not affect single sales)
Early May: The Voice Performance
BBMA's Performance: May 18th (edit)
The performances in these shows could be a short time before the album comes out:
1) Today Show
2) Good Morning America
How do you will promote her lead single if you could do it?

I would push everything back about 3 weeks. We just don't want her to seem to like too much of an opportunist. That's why I think it's better that she doesn't perform on the Movie Awards.
Your schedule with some minor adjustments:
Website Revamp: Mon. March 10th (with "single coming soon" announcement)
Single Announcement: Fri. April 4th
MTV Movie Awards Appearance: Sun. April 13th tons of red carpet interviews
Ryan S. Radio Premier: Mon. April 28 (Radio Promotion week)
Lyric Video: Mon. April 28th (Vevo Promotion)
Digital Download: Tue. April 29th (with I-Tunes Banner)
Mainstream POP: Tue. April 29th
Mainstream RHY/HAC: Mon. May 5th
Countdown to the Music Video Begins: Mon. May 5th (Three clips premiere over the course of a 10-day period)
Spotify Audio: Mon. May 12th (Two week digital download exclusive)
Video VEVO Premier: Thu. May 15th
BBMA's Performance: Sun. May 18th
Ellen Performance: Wed. May 21
Jimmy Kimmel Thu. May 22
And in June she can do one or two of the morning shows and the album release date can be announced for August/September.

Wow Sounds great!
So when do you think is a good date to release the album?
With a second single at a short time before, isnīt it?
